Coex was spun off into a separate company in April. Originally it was to happen last fall, but postponed after Septembers events. The new company name is Expressjet. They haven't recalled anyone of the 385 or so pilots that were furloughed (this number is xjet only, not including Continental mainline). The folks in flight ops are reported to predict that recalls won't happen until well into the fourth quarter of this year.
They are still taking delivery of all their RJ orders from Embraer, including the XR which will start this summer. But this is mitigated by the early retirement of the emb-120's which was complete I think the last day of April. So as of now there are 150 RJ's and 21 ATR's (give or take 1 or 2).
Bottom line, the future for this company looks decent, but don't look for them to hire off the street for quite a while.
Another note of interest is that contract openers (new contract)are being presented in a couple weeks. It will be interesting to see how smoothingly this negotiation process goes...
