I know more than one qualified pilot with a family who had to turn down an interview because of those first (and second) year conditions. Very tough decision but the numbers just didn't add up. (I look at one of those guys in the mirror every day)

Nope, DH in first on space avail only. Same goes with IRO, for all 3 pilots, the rest occurs in first only if space is avail, othewise it's in economy class.

Thats only for the 756 equipment though. 73 and 77 is still FC or BF.

Can anyone shed some truth on this:
I had a CAL jumpseater the other day who introduced himself as a B-777 Captain.

He actually introduced himself that way???

I bet he flew Gulfstreams in his corporate life...hehe

You get a deadhead seat in first class don't you? Don't you also get a seat in first to rest in if you are a member of the operating crew with an IRO?

Up until our POS concessionary contract was signed last spring we had guaranteed F/C for all IRO's on the 767/757. Now we have standby for F/C and if not available we get three blocked coach seats. We have domesticated our 756/767 international flying.

Our B777's have two crew bunks behind the cockpit prior to the F/C cabin. On the B737 (we have several 8 plus hour Caribbean turns) we still get a F/C seat.
