Has anyone heard of anyone getting a call for an interview since the online application came available, or do you know when they will be making calls to schedule interviews. Thanks, any info is appreciated.

I was at the training center Thursday and I know they were interviewing that day and had done interviews on Wednesday also.

I'm on the "preferential" interview list (fuloughed ATA) and haven't heard anything yet. As far as I know, there haven't been any calls for interviews for ATA furloughees yet. (No one on our internal web board has said they got called yet..usually someone would speak up if they got a call)

Hopefully soon.

acbarney: Why would you get a preferential interview? There are plenty of people out there? Just Wondering! Sorry you are furloughed!

I have to agree. It sucks your airline didn't do so well, but why should you receive special treatment when there are so many people out there looking? I know you don't make the rules, but it's a stupid concept.

That just happens to be the deal our MEC worked out with CAL's MEC due to the 757-300's moving over. All us furloughees are just pawns on the chessboard. The CAL guys are encouraging about it as well, and it is going the same way with SWA. We are considering ourselves very fortunate.

The preferential interview is one of the benefits of ALPA brotherhood and it's pilots (MEC/LEC's). With ATA furloughing and CAL taking the 757-300's the CAL MEC is helping some furloughed ALPA brothers out. They didn't have to do it and it was of their own accord. Kudo's to them. We are only talking less than 100 guys who are even eligible amoung the ATA Furloughs. If you are Jealous of this because it doesn't benefit "you" in anyway then don't worry, if you ever get to CAL there are still a bunch of selfish types (aka scabs) there for you to hang out with and complain about what you're not getting and somebody else is.....

My thoughts exactly

Welcome aboard ATA !!!

Will the ATA pilots be "ratioed" along with the XJT guys who have already been hired and also have to wait behind off the street applicants?

Aren't the Lorenzo boys reaching retirement age by now?

Which ones? The New York Air pilots (who basically started this whole problem) or the new hires in 83? Or the guys who were old CAL that crossed? Or the ones that stayed out then caved? Or is it the EAL guys that were told to go back by Beavis during the strike there and are now here?

I agree. It is amazing to watch the selective application and thought process of "brotherhood" within the union.

Selfish types?

Hmmmmm. How about the old CAL ALPA guys in 1983 who crossed the IAM and AFA picket lines? Or our friends from Scabpple Air in 1981? Or some of the older guys who stayed out on strike and voted yes on this contract when they are leaving within a time frame before it expires (because they couldn't care less about the ramifications beyond their retirements)?

I'll tell you I am more worried about some of the newer guys (especially after this vote) than the scabs. Granted, there is a very vocal scab minority but you are a fool if you think the only selfish factions within this seniority list were hired in 83 - 85.

It is this type of broad brushed thinking which will never alllow the CAL pilot group the collective resolve to achieve anything.

Aren't the XJET guys all already in training or assigned class dates at this point?

After the flow through agreement was terminated there where about 500 XJT pilots in the pool to go to CAL. The first 118 already had letters of hire from CAL. The rest were offered pref. interviews (this all happened in 2001). In the fall of 2002 approx. 270 XJT pilots were hired through this process.

Fast forward to today. The 118 pilots all have class dates. The last of these will start class in the first week of May. The other 270 pilots have no clue to what will happen. CAL has mentioned that they plan to ratio us. That is being fought by our union. We will see what happens!

ATA PREFERENTIAL INTERVIEW IS UNACCEPTABLE.

There something wrong with this alpa nonsense policy. Somne of us are waiting for good jobs and now we will have to wait for and pay for it. It is bu..........

BM,

79 of the eligible 113 chose to go to CAL. About 1/2 to 2/3 of them are in training now and the balance start in early May. Then we have another group of pilots, who were hired 2 1/2 years ago as part of a preferential interview process offered by CAL management. 236 pilots passed that process and the first should go over in late May or early June. It is unclear at this time at what ratio they will fit with the 100 or so eligible ATA guys and any off the street new hires. XJT ALPA is still meeting with CAL ALPA and CAL management on this subject.

I am assuming that no one totally off the street has been called for an interview yet? How about some gouge regarding the interview. Any updates info?
