When does that award for the 69 jet flying come out? Does it look like Express Jet will keep the flying contract? Just wondering.

Nothing yet, and probably nothing for at least the immediate future. Deadline is in September.

Not trying to be rude or a smarta## at all, but if you do a search for "expressjet", "69 airplanes", etc. you'll find out all you need to know as it comes up at least twice a week.

yeah thanks, I don't visit to often just a little lazy today! :)

If these guys are possibly losing 69 jets, how are they still hiring. Attrition? Just wondering because a buddy of mine just got called for an interview in Houston.

In his defense, searching "previous posts" does not give you up to date information.

Because we will most likely take those 69 airplanes and fly them for someone else if we lose the contract at CAL. XJT ALPA is now in negotiations with the company dealing with future flying opportunities. That along with the stock upgrade this week citing future growth opportunites leads one to believe that XJT will continue to grow well past this whole 69 deal. We will all know come September, but not many XJT guys are too worried about this deal. XJT management will use those airplanes to fly for ameriflight before they give them back to CAL. No furloughs and lots of growth in the next year is my prediction for XJT.

Actually, FO's aren't leaving this place b/c it doesn't suck donkey balls like Pinnacle and Mesa for work rules and days off, we get block or better and have some really nice stuff in the contract (my fav. is the commuter clause). CA's are always heading to CAL and I personally know 10 left seaters who have been hired at FedEx. That's the only attrition I can think of, people moving up and moving on, not bailing. Except for the CLE-based guys b/c those lines are shrinking there and growing like wildfire in Houston.

when you used the word "possibly" you answered your own question. nothing is gonna change until something DOES happen, not possibly happen.

I'm optimistic, but no one will know until the fat lady sings. Anything until you hear prior to an official announcement is speculation.

I have flown with alot of guys recently that are leaving, Alot going to CAL, Airtran, SWA, Frontier. Those are the ones i know are leaving. The mood over here at XJET is pretty optimistic, and the director of flt ops told us 250 to 260 upgrades this year. Dont count us out by any stretch of the immagination. It could go either way but most likely its going to be good news is the feeling i have. It is true we did get an email stating that the Company came to our ALPA and said they needed to begin talks for new additional flying and they needed to get things worked out between our ALPA and the company so they can jump on the opportunities.

We shall see.

But, But, But.......

I thought the sky was falling. The company was supposed to be liquidated in 3 yrs when Mesa gets another 25%.

Just keepin the rumors in the air.....
