Actually, it is a paper done by an undergrad. It is not a "sanctioned study" by MIT for CAL. Just a college student's view of the world. I wrote a similar one on Midway Airlines and Corporate Airlines 5 years ago.

Ahhh, that explains a lot. When I accessed the link there were no references as to who wrote the document. After reading it a 3rd time it's now obvious that it was a thesis type paper and not a 'University' sanctioned report. I also wrote a similar paper back in 1997 on SWA...

Section 7.3...'Last resort' is what really caught my eye. The irony of the section is interesting when put in the context of the IPO hype of early 2001...especially the road tour info sessions with J. Ream.

Cheers,
Markus

Neal,
I knew I recognized the screen name. FedEx is still treating me well after almost 2 years. I tried to get back to the airlines a few times after 9/11 but most opportunities were rather fleeting. I was offered the Mgr job down in TLH with Airtran back in March but turned it down after salary negotiations went sour...their highest offer was $7k less than I make now:rolleyes: . I'm patient, and have no problems staying with FedEx...Who knows though, 4-5 years from now I might be back, we'll see.
How've you been? How's the RJ treating you...compared to the 'ol Brasilia? You in IAH now?
Cheers,
Markus
