I am so tired of hearing people saying "some of the finest pilots...". What makes them the finest pilots in the industry? The fact that they willingly applied, interviewed and accepted a class date with the regional who dishes out the finest BS on a silver platter? Their ability to take a beating better than the majority of red headed step children?

Ok, Ok I'm not saying CJC pilots are better than anyone else in the industry. CJC does, however, have some great aviators who often recieve little credit or recognition, from peers or mgmt, for the great, safe and professional job they do despite some of the toughest working conditions in the industry. I'm not proud of the company for their track record on performance and treatment of employees, but I am very proud of the pilots who despite this tough environment manage to crack a joke, shine their shoes and conduct safe and professional flights while working hard to improve this little corner of the industry.

So yes, they are some of the finest and stand among many of the great pilots throughout the industry.

What makes them so great? They have superhuman powers? Are they able to fly their airplanes unlike anyone else? Do they have time warp abilities? Can they predict icing before it occurs?
What makes a pilot, a great pilot? Is this only a secret Colgan pilots know? When you move onto your next carrier, are you going to tell your new boss "Sorry sir, we might have a good pilot group here, but Colgan has THE finest!"?

I would say they're a resilient pilot group, seeing that management dishes out so much BS, and not a single pilot has burned the place to the ground.....yet.

Oh, and before I forget. How is that contract coming? You guys getting the big bucks ALPA promised you? If so, maybe you can call the Spirit guys, obviously their MEC hung them out to dry.

I think street captains are in the future again for CJC. There is just no way that with 45 or so airplanes coming in the next (2-3yrs?) We don't have enough qualified FO's. What does everyone else think? Anyone know how long the training is for transition to Q?

Sounds like the ideal solution is to not take any additional Q's. This will save Colgan the troubles of shoveling 10 more lbs of sh!t into a broken plastic bag. Additionally the new 'United' will get business back from all the elite customers that have stampeded elsewhere due to Colgan's operation being as reliable as BP. But CAL won't hear of it since they are as well informed as Baghdad Bob. 'There is nothing to show that customers book away from Colgan.'

Move over ... Mesaba folk coming through
