I know this isn't the right section, but wasn't sure which section to put this in and figured the major section gets the most reads. Anybody know what the pay is for captains at conair is. Not interested in doing it just kind of curious. Met someone who does it and seems to like the schedules (all locals).

Word from our union negotiators is that Clownair will be gone by next year! I tend to agree with that view! If you want to fly for a Connection carrier I would look to Skywest! The pay rates at Skywest are low for sure, but the airline is growing and has a great reputation! When Captain Ford is furloughed from Clownair I wonder if he will resign his senority number for a F/O position at Skywest! I think he will file a lawsuit first and call it "RJ Defense Coalition Part Two." Good luck to you in whatever you choose!

Actually I fly for Southwest so I'm not looking for a job. The Conair I was talking about is the nickname for the feds that fly around criminals. It's a government job. Just curious about their pay - for purely bored sitting in my easy chair nothing to do reasoning.

Not sure about the pay, but here are the "hubs"...

Detailed itineraries are required to ensure that each prisoner appears in court at a designated time. All scheduling is handled at JPATS headquarters, located in Kansas City, Mo. Air fleet operations are located in Oklahoma City, Okla., with hubs in: Alexandria, La.; Mesa, Ariz.; Anchorage, Alaska; and the Virgin Islands.

Looked into it a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly pay was at the GS-12/13 level (as PIC) . Think you started at Gs-10 or something. Probably can look up Gov. pay rates somewhere. (Google??).

A coworker I am friends with has spent the majority of his career on DC9/MD80's, etc, and was in the final running for this same position a while back. I think they got a military guy with no experience on the airplane instead. Makes perfect sense...?...I think I remember lots of strange forms and paperwork assosciated with the application process, more than the average job.
