Big surprise! Red Tails Blow!

Gee, Wally! Mebbe it was a concessionary deal executed under duress in bankruptcy. Can you confirm?

NWA70, the predecessor to Compass, was floated by ALPA long before Northwest went bankrupt. Read about it here:

http://www.rjdefense.com/2004/nwa70.pdf

ALPA believes it will be necessary to create a structure in which overall pilot costs for pilots flying 70-seat NWA jets are competitive with those at other 70-seat operators.

We all know what "competitive" means, don't we?

Hi!

Here's my take on what I've heard so far:
Pay-barely acceptable-possible depending on the rest of the package
30 months at Compass before going to NWA-UNACCEPTABLE
Unpaid Indoc-UNACCEPTABLE
Training Contract-UNACCEPTABLE

If the above is correct, I wouldn't even bother going to an interview if I was invited.

If a regional does this, it is called "lowering the bar", or "stealing", or "whoring". When a mainline pilot group does it, it is called "recapturing flying". Kinda like calling a garbage man a "sanitary engineer"......

You couldn't have put it better.

The 'low esteem' factor on this [regional] board is so obvious it's painful. If a regional pilot or pilot group does something (mistake, contract negotiation, go-around, slide off runway, etc.), it's the 'inability' as per this group. But when it comes to the 'major' airline - where everyone wants to be, and there's nothing wrong with that - everyone comes to their defence. In some instances, pilots on this board, and the 'major' board, have even supported those [major airline pilots] who show up drunk.

Hi!

In another thread, someone said that the Compass contract was IN NEGOTIATIONS. I have seen a posted pay scale.

Is it finalized and published, or is is still a work in progress?
