We don't have any FO's that have been here over 2 years. However, I don't see that upgrade time lowering any time soon unless we start losing some captains. Great bunch of pilots here, though.

The lowdown:

$16/hour for probationary period of 90 days, then $18/hour for the rest of the first year. A $1/hour pay raise per year after that for F/Os. All captains begin again at 1st year pay (regardless of how long you were an F/O) at $30/hr, with a $1.20/hour pay raise per year after that. PerDiem is $1.25/hour from report to release at the end of a trip.

Upgrade is rising per month with no announced plans for a class. When it does happen, the next person to upgrade was hired in May of '03.

Plan on two year cycles of up and down. Example - Summer 99 things were great, summer 2001 we furloughed half the company, summer 2003 we were growing like a weed and upgrades dropped to six months, now 2005 we are in a down cycle again.

Overall not a bad place to learn 121 stuff - training is straight forward. We are however, to my knowledge, the only airline out there that is strictly a Beech 1900 operator, so don't expect much. If you are lucky you can catch us at the beginning of an upswing and land a quick upgrade and as Beech-Slapped said, we have a great group of pilots.

wahoo...i believe its a jarrett bay...wish i was driving that rig...need my capt's license to start living the "other" dream!

hell yeah i know what you mean. I was actually thinking about getting a captains license and maybe chartering a little on my days off in the summer. I wonder if anybody does that. its pretty manageable once you hold a schedule i would think, you know... just as a supplimental income. it would be pretty hard to do if you go to commutair i would think. all their bases are a ways away from the fishing grounds if im not mistaken. just to add a side note... depending where you live i recommend expressjet. if you would have asked me two months ago i may not have said that but its not all that bad. i took a huge pay cut to come here but i think in the long run it'll be worth it. Im only on reserve but i think knowing your schedule a month in advance is awesome. i havnt had that in about 4 years.

I've seriously considered going through with it. It would be nice to have a second job driving a big rig on the water. Unfortunately, my current employer has taken away much of my free time...only 10 days off for the month of jan. blocked 96hrs last month. not complaining, but would some day like to have a second form of income doing something that i love. I haven't owned a boat for approx 5 yrs now and its killing me...its an addiction!
