I live within two and a half hours driving time of two junior USA3000 pilot bases. However, I really can't afford to move right now for family reasons.

I hear that they like to work you on a one day on one day type schedule. I also heard that they have to give you a 10 day block off every so often because of international restrictions. Is this true?

Just wondering if it's even really an option for me.

Thanks,
-TT

The schedules (preferential bidding), due to rest requirements, often end up being a day on and day off. The call out time is 1 1/2 hour AFTER they talk to you, but you have 30 minutes to call them back. So, essentially, you have 2 hours if you leave home right at the time you get the call.

Also, never heard of them giving anyone a 10 day block off....I wish. Maybe if you got 100 hours already that month and there are 10 days left. I wouldn't be surprised if they still made you sit reserve just in case they have a repo flight or something. I left there a month ago so maybe things have changed since then but I doubt it.

Ha ha......you are right!

I was sitting there one night thinking, what the heck am I doing acutally working for a living when I could sit on my a$$, get pregnant and have a man take care of me. Then, when he gets sick of me, we can break up and I can take him to court for more money. I can't believe I didn't think of this a long time ago.
