see the loads this summer on most mailines? harder and harder to commute.
2 weeks to go till school starts..."its the most wonderful time of the year"
just venting...

The other day I got bumped off about 5 flights. Why didn't they build the friggin RJs to NOT be weight restricted? I thought that would be over in the Jetstream days.

If the crews were REALLY trying they could have probably gotten you on....It is very rare (once in 6 yrs on the rj) when I can't find a way to make it work!

Not with the current TSA regs making gate checks a concept few and far between. I have worked my @ss off to get full loads out on my last few trips due to excessively high cargo loads. This stuff is going to kill RJ operators large and small unless it changes soon.

Well, the Eagle crew said they really don't have a say in it anymore...that it's ops deal I guess.

Unfortunately the Eagle EMBs have significant weight restriction problems. Some of the ability to tweak numbers has been removed by the Electronic WB system we now use. The crew has to be very proactive in trying to get information and cooperation from the load room if trying to maximize pax, and sometimes it's just not possible depending on who you're working with and how much time to departure (I've never seen such an anal operation regarding on-time and who to blame if we're not, it's beyond ridiculous). The good news is that Eagle is embarking on a program to increase the weights for the EMBs to add over 1000#, so hopefully in the not too distant future this won't be nearly the problem it is today.

FYI-- excessively high cargo loads only help the CRJ. If you're commuting on a CRJ I wouldn't be too worried about the lack of carry-on bags.

It seems like the EMB cannot carry a jumpseater due to weight restrictions. The CRJ is due to CG issues. If the station your at has ballast you will be able to ride the jump-seat on the CRJ. So maybe this TSA crap will help the CRJ.

That is good news for the EMB..if they can get a increase in weight then the jumpseat may become usable...allthough I did sit in it once pre 9/11 and man is that small..I had to sit side saddle with the F.O. seat forward so I could put my legs behind him.

I have done the search on here, but couldn't come up with any results having substance. Is there a website which shows all airlines flights From-To city pairs? Thanks

RJ is more a CG issue, most the time we can load ballast in the cargo bay to get a JS'er on. CMR still does paper W+B, seems liek that allows more flexibility than the operators that have a loadmaster.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but if you go to passrider.com you can see all the flights between city pairs, and the type of aircraft for each flight.

Thanks, I'll check it out
