Are those guys still posting memos? Some things never change. I'll see if I can find the absolute classic of classic CJC memos.

I'm sure I don't have the wording exactly right, but my favorite memo went something like this:

"If you personally know any qualified pilots, please write them a recommendation so we can forward their application directly to the Firing Committee."

Not that people don't make occasional spelling errors, but c'mon!!!

late departures

In that last memo they talked about being on time.

WTF, today and many other days we get those LC1 checks right as we are supposed to board. I mean the plane sits there for like an hour then right as we are to board they do a 45 min check. I will not concede anything from my salary for such stupidity.

they hired independence people because it is so expensive to live in northern Va and DC. Once the mechs get some time under the belt and get stressed dealing with the companies backwards way of doing things with MX they move on and try to make more money. The independence guys probably live in the area and since they werent going to have jobs they came on over. I am sure they wont stay. nobody stays at colgan. it is a place for the interim. and the memo said nothing of pay cuts. after 9/11 they didnt have paycuts. every year they send out the letter as a review of the year. but you can bet they will be auditing pay sheets more. some guys think they can put hot reserve down everytime they have to sit someplace between flights. you will see more scrutiny on pay sheets and they also hate dead heading and tdy so now that they are a bit fat on pilots and captains you wont see so much open time and TDY. they are also forcing FA's to bid for bases where they are needed as opposed to a dozen sitting at a base and not working.

The last pay raise was august of 2002. Starting FO beech 1900 pay went from $17 to $20 an hour. No paycuts since then. They did have a pay freeze during 2003. It lasted around 6 months i think, and this happened right around the time the country went to war and SARS was going on. Pay freeze ended in august of 2003 i believe.
