Pilot Staffing Update07-MAR-2006Last week Crewmember Services announced the recall of all furloughed pilots. These pilots will be brought back to the base from which they left. In addition to the recall, we will be posting a vacancy bid for both first officers and captains this week. The purpose of this bid is to allow previously displaced pilots the opportunity to return to the category they once held. As outlined in section 23.R.5 and 6 of the Working Agreement, this bid will be open to all pilots, however, a displaced pilot will be entitled to priority reinstatement to the category from which he was displaced. Please reference the actual bid packet for the number of vancancies avialable. Furthermore, we will be hiring 18 additional pilots in April and welcome any referrals you may have.
The cause of the recall and vacancy bid is an adjustment to the fleet plan. As previously discussed, we anticipated a churning of the fleet during 2006 and now see that several aircraft will continue in operation longer than expected. Please contact Crew Forecasting with questions you may have.

Man that is messed up. Furloughing and 2 months later hiring.

Well worth it for management! They got the CMR pilots down from the bar to around Mesa.

hey at least we still in buisness. We can laugh at the others trying to "hold the line" and think they are actually making a difference!!! HOLLA!

Since when does a a 30 % pay cut from regional FO payrates pay the bills.

Pogue,

D'Angelo is still living with his Mom. His check from Comair is really more like an allowance. Mommy and Daddy are paying his bills.

Man you really don't know when to "pull out" do you? For what you guys voted in I would have gone elsewhere. Enjoy flying for peanuts, ironically, peanuts will most likely be a common fixture in your diet.

D'Angelo.

I certainly hope you are not a Comair pilot.

In the unfortunate case you are, for the sake of the rest of us, please cease these sophomoric posts for they are extremely childish, unprofessional, and right-down embarassing.

If you aren't a Comair pilot, please don't ever come here. I dread the thought of ever having to fly with you.

This fella does work for Comair.

To refute your point, check this: AWAC just installed a 2-4.4% hourly wage increase our union negotiated as part of our original concession to United. We have an annual wage adjustment clause that compares the average of the six largest independent regionals to our pay year by year, and puts us at the avg. +2% if we're not at or above there already. Not trying to brag but our group does feel a little better these days. Every RJ group out there could have something similar.

Also, our MEC passed on word that Pinnacle's MEC is refusing to negotiate work rules changes and pay cuts, and no TA involving concessions will be given to the pilots to vote on. Mesaba is threatening to strike and will do so in the face of a forced 20% pay cut.

Finally the Comair guys are starting to talk about things they're familiar with. You guys in CVG have been worrying about yourselves for quite some time now, haven't you? I'm fairly certain any ASA pilot has the right to 'piss' on any Comair pilot they choose to. You guys gave us that right! In fact, you almost made in obligatory! However, you'll notice we don't go out of our way to do it. D'Angelo continually jumps in front of the urinal. Anytime you start to get upset because you think an ASA guy is 'pissing' on a Comair guy just remember who started this golden-shower war. JC should have been run out of town long ago!

Now thats what im talking about. The majority voted on what they wanted and its here. Me and 50.9% of the other pilots are still waiting for our thank you notes. The furloughs are back. Hey if others found jobs thats great however dignity truly does not pay the bills. I do not live with parents however I live with a nice woman who makes decent money. Between my decent income, an extra trip here and there and her good job we have plenty left over each month. Sure FO pay won't support a family by itself but since when did we ever expect it to do that?

D'Angelo,

As a former Comair Pilot, that left two months ago because of how bad management was treating us, I think you need to just tone it down.

You are really acting like a SELFISH TEENAGER, only thinking about me,me,me.

The world really doesn't revolve around you "Mr. D'Angelo" as much as you think it does.

You truly do not represent all Comair pilots, but every time you open your mouth you are giving Comair pilots a bad name.

You should really tone it down.

Take care and good luck to all of you,
Jet

So what makes you believe you have the right to piss on Comair pilots?

Ask and you shall receive! How many years have we listend to Comair pilots talk of how important it was to hold the bar, but as soon as faced with a little adversity you guys fold like a wet noodle. Now us ASA pilots have to deal with managements constant line of "look at the comair payrates". That line used to be reserved for Mesa, guess that makes you no better.

Sorry but while we would love to help you guys our airline comes first. Your situation comes second. If ALPO wants us all on a level playing field we have to start all over again. Then no contracts allowed that are 1 cent lower than whoever is currently highest. They opened the floodgates by allowing mesas contract in. Now they must eat that sh!t sandwich for years to come. We did what we had to do to survive. You guys have the choice to do whatever you need to do. If you want to burn the house down then you can just dont blame us while your waiting tables at Dennys instead of making a decent living for a fairly easy job with good days off with a little senority.

Sounds like you are getting compared to the Skywest payrates and not the Comair payrates.

D'angelo, you make it seem like working for Comair is the only job that you will ever have. Working at Denny's, come on. Yes, there are some people that work at Comair and will never be hired by another aviation company. They got in because they paid their money to starfleet academy and they were "owed" a job.

Many pilots at Comair can move on and need to be reminded of this fact when asked to vote away their quality of life. Its too late for this go around but others will soon be in a similar position

Starting over at another regional IS a paycut. Sure some may be able to get a nice corporate gig but for the most part its starting all over at another regional with similar pay similar rules except a lot less senority. Doesnt make a lot of sense to me

That is why I found another job.

Outtahere,

I may not agree with the results of this vote, but this isn't a "little adversity." Comair is bankrupt along with its parent company: we have/had no leverage. Do you consider bankruptcy a "little adversity?" In fact, it is my opinion we lost leverage after Mesa and CHQ acceptable their contracts with very little (if any) fight. If memory serves me correctly, it was CHQ's rates been offered during the first request for concesssions.

You say management is saying "look at the comair payrates." Well I say to you, those are the Mesa/CHQ/Skywest rates that were shoved down our throat. If the bar hadn't been lowered over the past four years, we may not have been placed in this position.

Fortunately it's the end, there is no more to give. With this passing by only nine votes, this group will not agree to any more (as it shouldn't).

You guys sure seem to bite hard on D'Angelo's flame.

Perhaps, but it least it tells the others that such inappropriate posts are not being tolerated by other Comair pilots.
