You decide. Maybe there is a reason there is going to be 150 CHQ departures out of CVG starting next month.
No flame just posting what I see.
For the record, we want to add you guys about as much as you want to be here.

I have been receiving a steady stream of emails from folks who are hearing rumors about
Expressjet and trying to confirm the rumor mill with me. I’m sorry to disappoint people by telling
them I don’t have a clue what XJT is going to do with the 69 aircraft they are pulling from the CO
program, but that is the truth. There are certainly no big expansion opportunities out there that
we are aware of for the deployment of small RJs. Well I guess the one big opportunity is for the
replacement of some of the 69 aircraft that XJT is taking away from CO, but somehow I don’t
think XJT is in the running for any of that flying. The biggest threat to our ability to grow and/or
redeploy small RJs is the significant number of CRJ-200s that remain on the market after the
demise of Independence Air. Those aircraft are leasing out for about $40,000 per month less
than what we are paying for our 50 seat aircraft. And since we don’t have a CRJ platform it is
difficult for us to compete with Mesa, TSA and Skywest for those new flying opportunities. We
have explored the possibility of adding the CRJ to our Chautauqua operating platform but the cost
of increased crew training and the resulting transition training we expose ourselves to on our
other large RJ flying puts us at a big economic disadvantage to the other regional airlines that
already fly the CRJ product. We have had some exploratory discussions with the pilots union to
see if there are some creative ways to mitigate this.
