Once you two got the call for the interview, how far out were your interview dates scheduled.

7 weeks, all the May were full when I was released from the academy.

My resume was hand delivered in early May. HR called me the first week of June for late July interview times. I had lots of other factors going for me: I just lost my job (EJM) with no place to go, I live in Cincy, the CP liked my friend who handed him my resume and I have 5000TT/1000 jet PIC, 2 types + degrees etc. Though my guess is, without the hand delivery, my resume would be lost in a stack of a million otherwise highly qualified, unemployed folks.

I got called on June 6th or so and scheduled an interview for the end of July.

Anybody know how much time is passing between interview date and class date? I've heard 2-3 months...is that pretty accurate?

How many airplanes are on order right now? If the 70 seaters end up going to mainline, is there enough 50 seat growth to support all the pilots on the seniority list? These questions are just hypotheticals from a guy who has already been furloughed once this year and doesn't want to go through it again...please, no pissing contests between FDJ, General Lee, and surplus 1

Hey KAK glad to see that you got an interview other there. How is furlough treating you? I only ask since I will be there myself soon. Needless to say I have been sending in my resume to CMR but no joy just yet. Did you have someone walk it in?

Well, it has certainly come full circle for me. This time last year I was beginning a cycle consisting of preparing for my ACA interview, anxiously awaiting the "good call", celebrating being hired, getting through training, sitting reserve for 2-1/2 months (and getting a grand total of 71 hours in the CRJ) before being....FURLOUGHED , begging for my old Baron job back, getting it back, getting called by Comair, preparing for the interview...okay, you get the drift. The rest of this story will be written in early August with what will hopefully be a happy ending

So all in all, the furlough has been much more mild for me than for a lot of people. I can definitely sympathize with those who have had it much worse, or are about to be furloughed.

Anyway, nobody walked my resume in. I faxed the resume just after being furloughed in April. They called me earlier this month. The CRJ training at ACA may have given me the advantage, but I don't know that for sure. I do know that several of the people from my class got Comair interviews by attending Air, Inc. seminars and the remaining ones had someone walk their resume in.

Best of luck to you. I can only imagine what the morale is like around IAD these days. Hopefully there will changes for the better on the horizon

I'm still waiting to hear. I keep telling myself that if they definitely didn't want me, I would have heard something by now...denial is such a wonderful thing sometimes.

Anyway, this is what I learned in the company briefing (I assume that's why this thread was "bumped" back to the first page). 10 more a/c deliveries this year with an additional 8 next year. No more growth planned as of right now, but that is very liquid and subject to change. Company official conducting the briefing indicated that there would definitely be a new domicile in the future, but it is not known where it will be (ATL and SLC were suggested). Total staffing needs are for 180 more pilots into 2004, but again that could change if growth mode gets revamped.

I was extremely impressed with what I saw in CVG and truly hope that I get the job offer. It is obvious that Comair is a great place to be, for reasons that extend beyond the contractual ones.

Interviewed on July 24. Received a letter of congratulations today. In the interview orientation they project October class dates. To echo previous posts, the interview process and the people were very good. Good luck to everyone....

It's fantastic to see some of the many furloughed pilots who participate in this message board finding gainful employment in the industry.

Hopefully Delta will find value in continuing to grow Comair and you will find a quick upgrade and a long, prosperous career.

(There are, arguably, markets out west where Comair could replace American Eagle as a Delta feeder in LAX)
