Ok all, we are going to start this again. For this thread-No flamebait, no name calling, no speculation, no off topic remarks. Simply a way for us to show some respect to the crew, families and loved ones that were lost today.

They are all in my prayers

God bless, from a former Independence RJ guy.

My expecting wife had a moment I don"t want to experience again. WE (you and I) have lost today, don't ever forget that.

My Sympathies and Condolences to the crew and passengers...
To all the Comair Pilots, FA's and employees, hang in there....

Capt. Peter "Motch" Matschulat
Trans States Airline

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

-Horatio G. Spafford, 1873

Sorry for the churching, guys, but I always have liked this hymn and the story behind it. Condolences from an ex-XJer.

my thoughts and prayers are with all the families, and all the pilots/flight attendants of Comair. May they find peace.

I was a pilot at Comair for almost 10 years and was terribly saddened today by the news of 5191. It wasn't long after I was hired at Comair when we lost flight 3272 in DTW. I knew the FO on that flight as well as Jim Polehinke, the FO on 5191. It brought back all the old feelings and memories of that terrible day in January, 1997. I have nothing but respect for the pilots and families of Comair and truly grieve for them all tonight. I pray for the quick recovery of First Officer Polehinke.

please keep the FA in your prayers as well...they lost someone who has no voice on this thread.

I did'nt know the crew of 5191; but Ken Reece, the FO on 3272 in DTW flew as my FO several times when I was a Comair Capt. I spoke to him the day he perished. This brings it all back. It's just so very sad, very, very sad.

Ken was my first instructor at flight school. He was an extremely sharp, smart and enthusiastic pilot. Never in a million years would I have I believed he could be involved in such a terrible tragedy. It just goes to show that it could happen to anybody at anytime.

I am so very sorry for everyone who lost someone today.

I've been thinking all day of something eloquent to write, but the words escape me. This hits way too close to home. God bless all those involved.

And to James the FO, hang in there buddy. You can beat this.

From my family:

Our hearts are with you tonight. I am sorry for the pain you are dealing with tonight. Although it is only minor, we somewhat share your pain as our hearts hurt for you all.

masedogg19 - Thank you for mentioning the Corporate crew, I felt hurt for the families of the Air Midwest and Corporate Airlines crew and passengers when they were overlooked today by the media. It feels wrong to discount some deaths because the airplane had less than 50 seats or was powered by turboprops.

May we all tread more carefully after such a tragedy. My heart goes out to everyone touched by this crash.

God Rest their souls

God Bless to the families and friends of the survivors and all of the souls that were lost today, Our thoughts and prayers at Colgan are with you guys/gals at Comair and those who have perished today.

Gods Speed
