Columbus Commute

I just had a question for any Southwest Pilots that commute out of Columbus or know of someone who does. How difficult is that commute? I saw that they have 6 flights a day from Coumbus to Chicago, so I was just wondering how much time away from home it would add to all of the trips by doing that. My wife really wants to move back to that part of the country and I agree that it would be a great place to live, but I worry about the painfulness of the commute. Thanks in advance.

Which Columbus?

I'm assuming you mean Columbus, Ohio...

as opposed to Columbus, MS (the cultural center of the universe).

I don't know about WN flights, but when I used to fly for AirNet in CMH there were WN guys all the time going to MDW. It may be harder when AirNet moves the operation to Rickenbaker (sp?) though.

You can do A.M.s or P.M.s. With the AM stuff you will have to go in the night before and crash unless you have a real late start. SWA commuter policy requires you to have two SWA flights to get you to work to be protected due to cancellations ect. If you do P.M.s then you leave home in the morning or afternoon and probably wont get home on you last day. As you get more senority you will be able to bid trips that start as a pm but turn am on last day. Great for commuters. God luck
