Where are some places you fly the 767? Do you fly domestic within Japan, or do you fly International flights? Sounds interesting.

All international, ANA mainline crews does the domestic flying. Honolulu, Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Dalian, Shanghai. I'm with Air Japan (AJX, passengers) Japan Post Express (AJV, cargo) they do Anchorage and Chicago runs and a few China overnight flights.

If you are seriously thinking about coming out here, I would suggest reading a book called Kata by a guy named De Mente. I read it after i finished my training and it made the entire training process make sense.

It isn't like the US here and if you don't do things their way, you will fail. If you fly the sim perfectly but not the way they want you to, you still fail. Process is more important than results.

Japan is a pretty good deal right now. All of the contracts here pay pretty well, you are treated with respect and the operation runs flawlessly. I was only planning on staying in Japan for 5 years then returning home but now I will be here as long as I can.

A friend told me the same thing about the Kata book. And everyone I've talked to says the same thing, you're not changing their system, adapt. I've accepted a Nov. 17 class date. I know, for me, I've made the right decision but it's great hearing from you guys to reinforce that.

Yes, indeed the Japanese have a very different approach to many common problems or processes in both industry and socially. I was stationed there for two years, and was born in Japan.
Good luck over there and let us know how you are doing

How in the world did you forget GODZILLA!?!?!?!

Everytime we land in Nagoya and the marshallers are all out there in their helmets thats the first thing I think of. This big green thing coming over the hill and all of em yelling Godzilla!!!!!

What about that one with Michael Douglas as the cop----"BLACK RAIN." You have GOT to see that one. It's all about kickin Azz against the Japanese Mafia. You gotta like it when one of the bad guys has to chop off his finger.... A must see. Three thumbs up.

Bye Bye---General Lee

You mean 2 thumbs up minus the pinky? LOL!

I came to ANA almost two years ago and so far the only difficult adjustment has been getting used to the strange way (by our standards) the Japanese have of running their airlines, after for us it is very strange to get treated well and get paid a lot of money.

My suggestion for those that are seriously considering coming to Japan to work would be not to turn to Hollywood for cultural education

Might I suggest flightinfo instead:rolleyes:
