Colgan is going to furlough is what I heard. Contential is dropping us and Express Jet is taking over using some of those airplanes they were going to lose and start their own little charter thingy. Check out Aviation news on the google aviation page just saw it 5 minutes ago. We are all screwed BAD!

That's one way to get the FO's senior to you to leave.

A full RJ on a route less than 300 miles at $60/barrel for oil at current ticket yields LOSES MONEY! If XJT was buying Q300's or 400's I might buy it...but we are the low cost provider. We're not going anywhere. Turboprops will once again rule the skies on feeder routes. Its like the dinosaurs walking the earth again. A turboprop is 30% more fuel efficient and on short routes the difference in speed really doesn't matter. When you buy a plane ticket do you sort by travel time or ticket price? 70 & 90 seat Turboprops will be the LARGEST GROWTH SECTOR in the industry over the next 5 years. The nosie cancelling technology & roomy cabins will help people forget that yes a prop is providing 90% of the thrust.

Perfect...i guess i will just stay at Colgan then. Can't wait to have the water cannons over the Saab for my retirement flight. Ok maybe not water cannons..but i bet one of the maintainence guys could stand out there with the water hose..or a supersoaker...

All of this rumor work the last couple of weeks and we turn up nothing! What crap I am going to go start some American Eagle rumors.

Colgan and Marion/Quincy/Decatur to ORD

I have been hearing rumors for a couple of months that Colgan will start flying out of ORD. I am hoping this will happen so I can be closer to home but in my hometown newspaper (in Illinois), it was announced on NOV 6 that Air Midwest will be flying from Marion, Quincy, and Decatur IL with there BE1900s and will not go to ORD but to MDW. Bad news for getting to be based at home for me. Hopefully all is not lost for a ORD base for Colgan.

I wish the Beech had a hatch. ...with explosive bolts.
come on comrade......have some patience. The 1900 is good to you.......you'll have the rest of your career to let "otto" pilot do the work. Unfortunatey I don't think they will let you go sideways to the Saab.

Mr. Brink did say that three saabs were to replace the a models. and that any new flying would probably not be disclosed by management until implementation began. there is no good rumorage to report

The other 2 Saabs behind 361 are also in Captain America Colors....The other 7 of the 10 have yet to be signed for but the options are on the table...To quelsh the rumors....here's what the lil birdie at the Kremlin has confirmed..

1. NOTHING GOING TO ORD...The only reason that the Saab was sent there was to fulfill a contractual obligation to bring the UAL Ground Training Dept up to speed. NO ORD for Colgan period...UAL said no for a number of reasons.

2. The 3 new planes will be in Captain America colors as spares bringing the Captain America fleet total to 7...202,203,210,251,361 and the other 2.

3. No new route expansion for the winter on all 3 code shares. Possibly in the Spring on the United side. LYH, PHF, ELM, SWF, HVN were mentioned. CRW-CLE route will still belong to Commutair...likely to be one of first runs on the Dash for them. NO CLE, NO ORD, NO JFK, NO FLORIDA, NO DELTA, NO NW AIRLINK

4. hiring will continue to bring crews up to full staffing...in case the rumors become reality..
