One hasn't been voted in yet. The current ALPA drive isn't the first time a union movement has occured. There was one as far back as '00 shortly after I got hired there.
Historically the attrition rate has kept one off of the property. Also once upon a time there wasn't a need. Being neither management nor pilot group I don't really have a dog in the fight, other than to see the guys get some QOL improvements as well as protection for what little they have now, however it may happen.

Hire most of your crews out of some small town in New Hampshire and they are just grateful to be working for an airline!!:smash:

Hey GG. Put up your old avatar. You know the four faces. By the way. How do you Colgan crews like the four hour sit you have in LGA?

Sounds like we tasted alittle tar together. But the bottom line is Colgan pilot's need a set of work rules and some QOL increases. The only way to get that is for the pilot's to speak with one voice!

There is no good reason not to have a union at Colgan.

It's time we, as professionals, are represented by a professional union.

XJT has 4 hour sits in CLE all the time. It's not a union thing.

That having been said, glad you're getting one. When I was there you didn't even know the basics like when/if you were going to get paid.

Well if I have a 4 plus hour sit in my day I want to sit in a hotel where I can rest. Sitting in a noisy terminal with people bugging you is not relaxing. It puts a toll on one's body.

it has been said 'the only thing worse than a union is a management that makes one necessary.'

the best approach is to inform yourselves as much as possible, then decide. get as much info as you can from others who are/have been represented by ALPA, Teamsters, or whomever.

best of luck.
