Hey I was wondering how long it will take a new hire in the S340 to get into the ITH or ROC bases, and once you get it, can you stay there for good, or can you get bumped out to somewhere else?
Also wondering if there really is this flowthrough agreement with CAL that i've been hearing about.
Thanks!

flow through? hahahhahahh wait....hahahhahahh. The only flow through would be your urine in the aft lav of one of their 757s!!!!

ROC is very junior. ITH is usually a little more senior. Once you get there you cannot get displaced unless your base closes. I would think that either one would be an easy get (after you get out of JST). The only thing about ROC is that the lines aren't very good, but, if it is close to home you'll enjoy it.

TurtlesFLy:

That was a really sophomoric comment from such a prestigious "jet fo." But hey what could I have expected from you when the jet does all of the thinking.

Your the type of guy who says "my airline is better than your airline.." aren't u?

Prop2Jet,

You're retarded. If you checked my other posts, you would know that I spent well over a year at your airline . . .

. . . based in . . . let's see . . . JST, CRW, and HEF for a while. I was writing as a joke to see if the people at the airline really love it there or if they were just as disillusioned as I was. Nobody gives you the "skinny" when you go there about how bizarre that airline runs - and I am always interested in Colgan threads to see if things have ever changed. I was hoping that the CoEx side of Colgan is better - but down in Houston we find that it's not much better than the USAir side up in the North.

Hardly a put-down, more of a recommendation that you should jump ship like everybody else did in my new-hire class. BTW, there is not one person from my new hire class who lasted at that airline more than 2 years.

If you love it there, more power to you. Somebody has to fly to PQI. :)

how about chances of a new hire getting SF3 and PVD out of class and being able to hold it for well, as long as possible. I dont want to mention first names but I know one (cpt though) got sent back to LGA (unless he just wanted to go I forgot) but the rest of the guys still fly out of there that have had it for years I think.

How did u know I was retarded. Sorry I did not check your other posts like most guys on this board. I think I will stick it out here until I get 1000Pic and then move on. So is it much different on the "other side"?

Hey turtlewhoplayswithhimself,
Don't knock the isle. Your not from the isle you wouldn't understand the isle. I eat snow and crap ice. I only eat things that have been killed in the isle. My toes stick out the front of my boots. I smoke in the cockpit and eat dead things for breakfast lunch and dinner. Hair grows out of my tongue. Go play with your jet and have fun not being a captain for 10 years. Don't knock the Colgan because you couldn't handle it. I plan to make a career at Colgan. I am going to get a Colgan tattoo next week.

hey, is it all that bad???????????????

So,

i'm sick of seeing all these bad posts about Colgan and every other airline in the regional industry......granted i have only seen the IAH side of things as a street Capt., but things aren't so bad down in the south!!!!!! WE ALL JUST WORK FOR THESE AIRLINES, TRYING TO BUILD QUALITY TIME! Why the bashing keeps going on just blows my mind! Until you get to the final destination (if that even exists anymore) we are all in this together!!! Of course things aren't perfect, but what I've heard in regards to how things were before I got here and the way things are now, I can't complain.

We are all in this to get to our "goals". Many who respond negatively just don't get it!!!!!! Whether it's Colgan, Mesaba, Skywest, the new Shuttle America, or the unfortunate ones from Chicago Express, we are all in this together!!!!

We ALL work for the regional airline industry which ultimately has killed the airline industry as a whole......Get your time wherever it is and don't hate on those who choose diffently than you!

Just realize that patience is a virtue!!!!

Funny, worked for them for 6 years and got treated very well. A job is what you make it. Before I went there I was working for a certain "Regional airline of the year" that today is riddled with labor strife and bankruptcy and is barely hanging on. At least with Colgan there was job security.
No jets? So what. I'm sitting right seat on a DC-10 flying all over the world, and I didn't have a single hour of shiny new RJ time.
The company is profitable, upgrades are relatively quick, the flying is interesting and 90% of the time you're home in your own bed every night.
