I know someone that was an FO somewhere in the NE flying the SAAB. He said colgan was the worst company that he's ever worked for. He left after they tired to throw him under the bus for some issue. If you're a CFI then you really have no choice but if you're experienced then wait.

Hi!

I applied and updated my info several times...that was over 1 year ago...never heard anything.

7574ever,

Do what is best for you! If you want to apply to Colgan, then apply and the best of luck. It doesn't hurt to apply and see if they call you in for an interview. If you get the opportunity to interview with Colgan, that's the the time for YOU TO DECIDE if they are the kind of company you want to fly for.

There are people here who will give you honest and informative answers. And on the other hand, there are those who get their enjoyment by BS'ing with you and others. You can visit a web site called www.willflyforfood.com, and read the various interviews that people have had with Colgan Air.

Colgan... It looks like they are probably the best place to go on the regional side right now. They are hiring 2 classes per month for the rest of the year which means growth, stability and quick upgrade for those hired on early enough. They have ALPA on the property now so they will be able to negotiate better work rules and pay.

You can go to other regionals for nearly the same pay and be at the bottom of a very long line to the top of the seniority list......or you go to a regional that is actually going to triple its size. Math 101.....numbers & common sense should tell you the right choice is where the growth is. If people cant figure that out....god help them.

Who is smarter/luckier? The pilot who goes to American Eagle (hired at the bottom behind the returning furloughee's) or the pilot who goes to Colgan (hired at the bottom this month and in the middle of the seniority list in 14 months)

Be smart and pick the regional that offers growth and quick upgrade so that you will be in a better position to jump ship to the major of your choice when the oportunity comes.

I watch some folks bash Colgan on here but all regionals are the same.....its getting hired on at the right place at the right time that counts for your career.

NO, all regionals are not the same. Do your research folks..

What resource does someone go to in order to find a "good" regional airline to fly for. Any suggestions for the poster of this topic on what regional airline they may want to fly for?

The only reason Colgan is hiring is because Pinnacle management bought them and gave them larger aircraft on "the backs of the Pinnacle pilots" and now Colgan is seeing the growth, and Pinnacle Pilots are being displaced so Colgan guys can upgrade.
