My friend who works there has heard everything....

Pick A Rumor:

1. 2 SAABS just like last year
2. 1 SAAB
3. 1 SAAB- open as a base so no hotel or per-diem.
4. No SAAB remain a Beach base. Other cities will do the trips IE: PVD MHT PQI.

I heard they made no money there last year due to the expensive hotels for the 10-15 crew they put out there all summer......

ASK the CP in the Conference Call Thursday!

Isn't a roundtrip from LGA to Martha's Vineyard (MVY) like $700 or $800? That's gotta cover some overhead somewhere.

Well in my boredom I did some research. I went on USAIR.com and looked for flights on May 30, 2006.

ACK-LGA 06:45 AM SAAB
MVY-LGA earliest flight 11:30AM on a SAAB the rest all Cape Air connecting through PVD, HYA or BOS.

Sounds like one SAAB on the islands for originators.

That is what I could come up with at least.

Good luck to all you who want to party on the cape all summer!

Your just jeolous Dubbie Dude ! Go work a second job and feel the life of a real pilot! hahahahah
"You want fries with dat?"

HYA is all about the FA's that will be there. Which ones will party for keeps and which one of those wont tell anyone what happened.

OH YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH BOYYYYYYYYYY

I'm hoping there are 2 Saabs in HYA this summer. Colgan does have a couple (and I mean maybe 2 or 3) male FAs.

A model Slob Hya as a base. No TDY Last I heard but who knows it's the airline biz....

Heard they were going to base the crews in a house on the vineyard with the rampers.

Then they are going to sell the rights to Bravo for a new reality TV series "The Crashpad" to air next year and make a few extra bucks.

So My friend heard that they are opening the HYA Base as of the end of April.

Not just for the summer....looks like they are going to try and keep it open year round!

Will be a SAAB A Model after the summer. Heard that the Beaches are "going away" faster than they thought. Looks like the lease price on the A-Model is about the same as the cost of a 1900D.

Give up the 1900's? Don't think so, To much free money from the taxpayers for EAS routes.

I agree all the 1900's will not go away...but they are considering the ones that do not need the 1900 on them....IE EAS at PQI is a SAAB....JST was a SAAB...but of course Colgan could not make money there even with the $850,000 from the Government...good luck to regions there....I believe HYA based aircraft go to airports that can use a SAAB as far as the airport requirerments...IE part 139 Airports...also heard that LEB is considering improvements to allow a SAAB in.....Just rumors of course.....

Consider this official: HYA will become a 'permanent' Saab base next month (1 plane). No cushy TDY for the summer in HYA this year. Bummer!

So tell me some more about these dirty, naughty FA's that are at colgan lol :)

I heard one would perform something called a "hurricane"

Here is the HYA summer Schedule effective 4/2/06, 1 Beech RON,and 3 Beech daily flights. 5/25/06, 1 beech,and 1 340 RON and 2 beech, 4 340 dailys. 6/22/06 1 beech and 2 340 RON and 2 beech, 5 340 dailys. 9/5/06, 1 beech RON and 3 beech dailys. 10/10/06 1 beech RON and 2 beech dailys. 4/27-5/1, all service upgraded to a 340. All subject to change of course.

This is classic Colgan. HYA will be a permanent base until it closes September 1st. It's just an excuse not to pay for TDY. I've seen it happen again and again.
