Removing a plane from Allentown at the end of the month. The crews based there first heard of it in the local paper. This affects half the base.

How bout them apples?

Really shows how important we are to management.

While I was at Colgan, I learned of 3 base closures from either the local newspaper or the station manager. Never heard from the company until Dot e-mailed me asking what base I wanted next.

Was there any reason given for this move? Just curious.

i think it was a pretty dead run and they need the airplane for other things. (I THINK).

I have a sneaking suspicion the route will re-open though.....with pittsburgh based flight crews. anyone?

This company does give a shyt about anyone expect the bottom line dollar. I VOTE ALPA !

they talked about it in the conference call...it only affects two first officers apparently.

That is still two COLGAN PILOTS that are getting shafted with out even the courtesy of a reach-around, even if it was just one FO the fact the company is so lacking in a time where they should be extra sensible to the need of their pilots is UNACCEPTABLE:angryfire

I heard they are adding an 11 line in IAH to cover for Chautaugua on 12jun.
That must be where the plane is coming from.

Where are they going to get people... People are leaving daily! Pay more, shape up, care more and that will solve their problems. Just start by caring more.....

Right now there are 10 airplanes flying full lines 8-10 flights each in IAH. They are adding 8 flights a day so another full time plane. That should open 4 more Capts and Fos in IAH.

Wow. Glad I left ABE. I wonder if I ever would have gotten the HPN base I wanted that they said I could have in the interview. Oh well. No, I dont wonder. I'm happier where I am.

good! maybe pdt will get it... and hopefully boston back out of syracuse!!

I used to fly the ABE-PIT route all the time. 4 flights on my shift probably had about 25 people TOTAL. Pretty dead route! Probably could use a beech on the route. Sucks for the crews in ABE. They were all real cool except for one super paranoid captain....everyone knows who I'm talking about. Just heard he left for an Airbus job, good luck to those captains that have to put up with him as an FO. Doubtful he'll be missed by Colganites. I dont miss the BS that used to go on at the airline but I do miss flying the Saab. Was a pretty challenging aircraft. For those still there, trust me, there are greener pastures as "It will roll" and myself have figured out!
