Colgan Air CASS

I was jumping a ride the other day on Continental and they ran me through CASS and I was in there! It was a shock to me AND the gate agent. I'm on the US Airways side of 9L, so unless CASS is officially online with us, there is no way I should have been in there. Anyone have a definitive answer?Shy

You're not in CASS. Because Colgan flies for Continental, you are in the continental system.

Well, its funny. I usually commute home on Shuttle America, and sometimes I get a ticket that says "no flight deck access", or I get one which allows me the jumpseat. Who knows how this works.

Steve E may chime in here but I was told that non CAL Connections pilots are not in the CAL system. According to the CASS configuration update of Aug 22, Colgan is still in development. But they may have it running now, who knows! But hey, at least you got a ride

That's correct. Check airman were allowed to keep both ID's, but even they are listed in only their respected carrier's system for non-rev. I called Tom to ask, but he hasn't got back to me. I will listen in on the conference call tomorrow and ask.

Actually, he did call me back yesterday. Said he was still looking for you because you keep missing trips.

He did say that CASS is not up and he doesn't know why anyone would be in it yet. So that surprised him. He also said they're getting final approval from the FAA for the change to our OP Specs and completing the last of the loading of the photos. Should be online by the end of the month or first week of Oct.

you can access the automated pay system thru the acars on the new 2000's. If you get real slick, you can slip a 20 into the print roller and tell all the FA's that its a colgan ATM, that pulls directly from your paycheck.

Tom said on the call yesterday that 3 weeks it will be done at the worst. He went into a lot of detail on what needs to be done - photos scanned in, TSA testing and that's pretty much it. The op spec is ready to be inserted by the FAA so it doesn't sound like we will have to wait for that. Was anyone else listening b/c I got on the call when he was in the middle of talking about this. I'm a little bit excited about it though, believe you me.
