Havent heard much about COEX lately, How fast is the list of furloughees shrinking?? How many still furloughed?

It's not.

Approximately 90 furloughed pilots were awarded a position on the most recent bid. They won't necessarily be trained for up to a year. That leaves approx. 300 pilots without positions.

ATR's are retiring in the middle of DEC, and all training between now and then is transition training from ATR to EMB-145.

COEX is gonna change pretty drastically:

Plan on spending 1-2 years on reserve as an FO (at least). Upgrade in 4-5 years (probably more), then 1-2 years on reserve as a captain.

The golden days of drastic movement are over (for now).

CAL is probably not gonna recall any pilots until 2004 at least....that means no one will be leaving the top of the COEX list unless it's to go to SWA (since no other major is hiring)

Oh and dont forget the company offered COLA to aver any further furloughs in November. This means we are still overstaffed. Great place to be if you've been here for a few years but other than that its no place to look into going.

In a few months everyone will have been at XJT a few years, except for the OTS flowbacks.
