Hey General, you sure you want to merge with NW? It will cost you your new command and fence you out of the wide bodies for the 20 years you have left.

On top of that you'll have to live in the tundra near MSP. Preflights are chilly in the ice palace.

You mean you don't like them? All those buttons are cute. You really need white hats but the NW guys won't go for that or the sailor suits so you're probably right.

Jetblue or Southwest will be there the next day, bank on it. Jetblue wants a midwest foothold. Another great move by Delta management, more intl flying just when open skies is approved.

IF there is a merger between NW and DL, then having hubs next to eachother would only add to the losses. I don't see DL giving up ATL (to keep a MEM hub), and I don't see NW giving up DTW (to keep CVG). It just makes sense, and DL seems to be scaling back at CVG right now. CVG is not a big O&D city, and if SW or JB wanted it, they would probably treat it like a Pittsburgh. (has SW really added a lot of routes from that city?) We use CVG as a transit hub mainly. Just speculation, though.

Not sure where you got that from but we are in fact looking to hire more instructors and the only reason would be new hires. It is in the ops notes and posted at FSI.
 
I believe the additional February furloughs clarkwgriswald is mentioning are the people who were originally scheduled for January 1st but got extended a month. I have not seen anything about additional furloughs.
 
I've heard the same rumor by a source inside at comair. They are not bidding for all of pinnancle's flying, but they are bidding for what equals just under 7,000 block hours a month, to be flown w/ aircraft already on the property.

Comair believes they will win the bid for three reasons:
1. Crew costs in line w/ competitors.
2. Re-negotiated A/C leases.
3. Most flying will be done to Comair stations within Delta's network.

Look for Comair to be sold to outside investor's (not mesa or any other airline), by the end of march. If comair wins the bid and gets a nice guarentee from Delta, Comair will be back to Pre-bancruptcy block hours by early to mid-2007.
I don't know what is going on w/ furloughs. They are creating a huge mess with the next wave this week, they will go from fat to short in less than a month, and the problem is that it is going to take months to recall and requal.
Why they just don't cancel the furlough I don't know.
 
I'm surprised they're still in furlough mode. I hear you guys are losing a lot of pilots these days.

I hope nothing more, but I am not a negotiator. I think a 47% pay cut since December 04 is enough. They may take some QOL things, or vacation too without adding to a direct pay cut. At the same time, I have moved up 2300 numbers and I can hold Captain now. How are you doing at Comair?

I am currently downgrading at Comair. Training lady came in tonight to post the sim schedules and told me that I would be back upgrading in May, they were going to get the furloughs through first. She said furloughs back starting March. Also posted a notice they are looking for 10 part time sim instructors.

Even after the idiotic concessions and re-negotiated leases, Comair is still hundreds of dollars more expensive in block-hour costs than Pinnacle. No BK judge would approve Comair's bid when it comes in that much higher than Pinnacle's. That's just not how BK works.

Post some of the official numbers that say you are the cheapest. You keep saying it, yet I havent come across any info on who the cheapest airline is.
