Close the doors.........get the ACARS going. Voila, you're getting paid. It happened twice in a three day period in DEN last month. Hail and the whole enchilada.

No ACARS on our planes, but the door was closed. The brake was still set, and the tug hadn't moved us yet, but you can bet your ass we were on the clock. I'm not babysitting 40 some-odd people for per diem only. We were closed up an honest 5 minutes early, only to sit there for almost 2 hours.

And I do completly understand and agree with the policy. It may suck sometimes, especially if you're towards the end of your day/trip, and may seem like overkill sometimes, but all it takes is one to ruin someone's day.
