Had a PHX Chief pilot on the jumpseat yesterday and he said there would be a class each monday in Jan. 2 classes confirmed for Feb and March but most likely would be one each week then too!

Calls for 2 Jan class went out last week and calls will start tomorrow for the 3rd Jan class. 4th class will get calls a few days after that. Ramped up hiring plans due to some additional aircraft purchases that have not been announced publicly yet.

I asked if this was a rumor I could spread and was told, "its not rumor, its fact." So there you have it. Congrats to the folks getting called for classes and for those of you who will be getting calls for interviews shortly.

All Models baby! -300, -500 & -700. Lots of 'em.

Supposedly (as rumors go) Aloha would be selling the 737's because the ETOPS ticket for the 737 may go away due to engine failures...supposedly...

I wouldn't doubt that Aloha would be getting rid of the -700s.

But acquisition of Aloha? Nah...SWA is smarter than that.

The slate is now clean regarding engine failures

This is excellent news. I fly my Fini-Flight in the AF tomorrow and start terminal leave next week. I was told previously by SWA PD to expect third Jan class. Hope I don't miss the great call while out having fun in a Tanker. Thanks for the news roughneck.

Actually, read yesterday's WSJ...SWA is going to buy Aloha. If it's in the WSJ, it must be true. I guess it's not a rumor anymore.

Got a link to that?

While you're at it, pass whatever you are drinking this way...

;)

Somethings you can't tease about.....

Juvat -

Why oh why, would you get my hopes up so high! If you do have a link for that WSJ article, please send it...that would make my whole year...and if you're just teasing, well that's just brutal...but you did get my hopes up long enough to do an exhaustive web search for related articles!!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Okay, so it's in the WSJ, but not Pacific Business News, Honolulu Advertiser, Honolulu Star Bulletin, Channel 2 News, Channel 8 News, Channel 4 News, etc. ?
Yeah, he read it in the WSJ alright.
However, remember what happened a year ago when the Airgroup was in a big rush to renegotiate all the employees' contracts?

Hugh-
Yeah, that's exactly what i'm thinking about right now. Would be one heck of a time for this all to go down. Personally, in the past I have been against SWA picking us up. Right now, I'd personally staple myself to the bottom of their list...well, ok, I wouldn't be thrilled about being on the bottom...you going at 10 or 4 today?

Thanks for looking skater...I couldn't find it either...wonder what that Juvat was going for....
