if i dont hear the words 'cleared into the class bravo' from the controller, i will ALWAYS ask the controller if i am cleared into the class b. yes the controllers do clear you from point a to point b and that route will take you through the bravo, but i personally want the 'cleared into the class bravo' on the tapes.
 
In the example I provided, no statement "proceed as requested," is required. The verification of radar contact (obviously pending a previously given discreet squawk), and specific clearance with heading (vector) to a point in class b will suffice.

If in doubt, ask for clarification.
 
As a hedge against a POSSIBLE misunderstanding I will ALWAYS ask for clarification that I am cleared into class B airspace if not specifically told so. I am not willing to take the chance that some controller somewhere misinterpreted my request.

"Is 99X cleared into class Bravo?" "Yesir. 99X cleared into class Bravo. Proceed as requested." "Thanks.":D
 
To save an extra radio transmission I always repeat my Bravo clearance with "Understand Hindenburg 1234Z is cleard into Bravo".

I'll agree with all the posts that state CLARIFICATION is always in order.
