Can someone tell me when is the next Men in Aviation conference?

Are there any men only clubs that cater to pilots? Will Expressjet be attending their next conference?

Women In Aviation is not a women's only organization. It is also open to men. Men have, in the past, won a few of the scholarships. I've been told that the ratio of men applying for the scholarships, as opposed to women, is miniscule.

Some of my more enlightened male friends have gone to the conferences and had a really good time. In addition, since they were in the minority, they stuck out like a sore thumb at the job fair and were successful in scheduling interviews.

Of course, you can just continue to whine about the situation and not use it to your advantage, if you'd prefer.

The next Women in Aviation conference is probably in March of 2005. The scholarship deadlines are usually in December.

CHQ has a good amount of very intellegent, talented and professional female pilots. They are fun to fly with as well as just hang out with.

I am ashamed at the narrow mindedness of some of my fellow male pilots. But I really feel sorry for their wives, girlfriends or any other female that may have to deal with them.

Any futher questions you have about CHQ, feel free to voice them at http://chqlounge.com the written abuse that is permitted here is not tolerated there!

I got hired back in 2001 with 1000TT/150ME, but that was pretty much industry norm back then. Right now, the 1500/300 is pretty rock solid, but I have heard of some exceptions.

Then again, I've walked in resumes of friends of mine who've exceeded those minimums, but didn't get called. Can't say for sure how to make sure you get picked for an interview by HR here.

Oh, and I have flown with several of the female pilots at CHQ, and I have to say that the ratio of cool-to-wanker is about the same as the male population, and maybe a bit higher. Just an observation.

You know..i dont know what it is now..but i do know a year ago when we were hiring for the delta stuff..that I was told, without asking that it was generally 1500 if you were male and 1200 if you were female.. that was all my statement meant. period.

I have flown with Several Female pilots here at CHQ and they were all wonderful. Some jumpy people took that post way the wrong way.
