Oh, they are famous allright. Canadian companies have a slightly different philosophy. And IMO, Bombardier would like as many levels as possible in their corporate structure.

It's something we will certainly take a careful look at before making our purchasing decision.

My thoughts

We have had excellent support from our fields service rep and all the folks at Learjet. Now that being said, they are slow with new products and product improvement...very measured steps.

I have looked the CL300 over and sat in the back and up front. Very, Very nice aircraft and it has great numbers. It is and will continue to be a big seller for them!

How was their support when the entire fleet of LJ45s were grounded for over a month and then they forced their customers to use Bombardier's charter service if they wanted a break on the charter rates? Flexjet was also the 1st to receive the "fix" for the grounding. That is not customer service. Bombardier should have set up contengiency plans when they knew this was on the horizon. There are several operators that will not buy their products again because of how they handled the 45 mess, and others because of the way support is lacking. That really is too bad, because Bombardier makes some great products. They just do not have enough good people working their who care and the VPs that are in charge of this type of thing are just not doing thier jobs. Don't forget the guy who bought a brand new 604 in 1999 and his crew had to shut down a different engine less than 2 months later. 2 Engine failures in 2 months of having the airplane. Please........ Bombardier gave the guy a hard time and refused to refund his money until the Lawyers got involved. It's poor leadership like that that will sink their ship. Here's the story.

Our experience Learjet and the 45!

1. They let us use a charter company at our home airport that we deal with on a regular basis. All I did was ask!

2. I believe FedEx had the first 45 back in the air and we followed the next day.

3. Learjet didn't make the stab. actuator. They should have had better oversight over the company that did.

4. We did a get call from our field service rep. as soon as they realized what the FAA was going to do and started making plans.

5. GE makes the engines on the Challenger in question. Maybe they should have taken that up with them?

I don't work for Bombardier or Learjet and I don't think they are the best company out there. I think the 45XR is a great aircraft for what it can do. But, What you have said is unfair from my personal experience having dealt with them over several years and several new aircraft.

ps, I need to figure out how to copy the quotes.
