Not even close in regards to my background. But rather than provide substance and actually have a cogent argument, you go right for the personal attack. Psst, JetU doesn't fly the Dash 8.

Fact of the matter is, Colgan pilots are the ones who are disgraces to the profession. They have a horrible QoL and yet last year they decided that a union isn't in their best interest (not to turn this into an ALPA vs non-ALPA thread, but any union is better than no union when it comes to job protection, especially when you work at such a miserable place such as Colgan).

Back in my Dash-8 days, Colgan pilots would come up to myself and other pilots at my airline and talk about how they can't wait "until we (colgan) put you (PDT) out of business!" not to mention "Why would you work anywhere with a 5 year upgrade? Ours is 12 months!" Colgan pilots, with a few exceptions, have been selfish little pricks who live for the "quick upgrade."

While I agree that all regionals are the lowest common denominator, airlines like Colgan have made no effect to raise the bar in any manner whatsoever. Because of that, I consider pilots of Colgan the lowest of the lowest common denominator.

BTW, 9 years and I NEVER heard ANYONE say they wanted to put ANYBODY out of business. Did you get a name?
QOL? And you speak from experience, having actually worked there? Or are you basing it on what you read on the internet?
It couldn't be from talking to actual CJ pilots, because remember they all told you how they wanted you to go out of business.

BTW I have worked for 2 ALPA carriers as well. Only thing it did for me in both cases was take a percentage of my paycheck. As far as QOL and job protection it didn't do squat.

I think that's somewhat accurate. He was at PDT for about 3 months, then left to go fly the dildo jet at XJT. Obviously he's too good for the prop. And supposedly too good learn people's names because he "wasn't going to be here for much longer" He still fishes around and posts on the PDT stuff for whatever reason.

But as far as the Colgan pulling out of Syracuse, I really don't feel bad at all. It's definitely unfortunate, but I have no sympathy for any of them.

My unsolicited advice? If you are enjoying good fortune at the present, be thankful for it. Remain forever magnanimous and empathetic to pilots of other companies. Never forget that the airline biz is fickle and every company seems to have a turn at the top of the pile... And then at the bottom. We are all in the same boat. Anyone who rejoices at the thought of someone losing a job needs thier head examined. That is not the kind of person I ever want to share a flight deck with.

Ahh, I know the fella. Stand-up person, great pilot, brilliant, helluva guy. Great to hang out with, too... Like minded sensibility on who should pay for what and when. Very rare these days, and I'm proud to say I'm a captain at the same airline he is.
