Easy, killer. My wife's a PSU alumna, so... yeah. But the IPT is lethal for us Irish types, especially if you eschew the snooty Bullfrog for the more pithy Kelly's.

Ditch the slam-clickers and run to Kelly's (my favorite quote is "Walk in with 15 bucks, walk out with 5 and a buzz")... my ultimate favorite thing to do. Don't get me started about ABE, though. I bet that's next.

No, I was saying SCE was my favorite overnight by far. But I was one of those college aged know nothing FOs when I was there. Now I'm slightly-above-college-aged know nothing FO.

ABE was pretty boring, nowhere to eat. ITH was fun (sucked in the winter). I was SYR based so my southernmost overnight was the rare PHL.

This couldn't happen to a nicer group of people.

Not.

Good riddance. Hopefully this is only the beginning of the downfall.

And here comes someone chiming in on "well don't wish bad for the pilots"...

Well, Colgan has never been anything but a horrible place to work, so the pilots only have themselves to blame.

You must be one of the spikey-haired, 19-year-old windbags that continue to plague our industry. Go back to Facebook or MySpce and tell your little girlfriends war stories from Jet U and the ERJ. I hope you fly with as many weathered, old school Captains as you can who just might teach you something about always looking out for your own. You're a disgrace to the profession.

That being said I've met some nice Colgan people but they still work for the lowest common denominator.

ALL regional pilots work for the lowest common denominator, numbnuts....

true.

Colgan air is still the best turboprop regional in the northeast. period. I hope every 50 seat regional pilot loses there job and all their money. And I hope sleezmont goes outta biz. I hate you guys. I rule.

Allow me to wax philisophical for a moment...

(Jumps on soapbox)

The present environment presents a strange diachotomy for a lot of pilots. You are concerned (or at least should be) for pilots who's companies are losing flying in part or completely. Yet you are also relieved and maybe a little bit happy about additional flying at your own company that is gained at the expense of others. It creates a schizophrenic emotional state where you are relieved yet you shouldn't show it as it is totally insensitive to those pilots who are enjoying far less fortune.

The days when flying 'belonged' to anyone are gone forever. We are in an era that increasingly has airlines as nothing more than holding companies for various shady corporate entities that all perform flying under the same banner. We are competitors, yet when operating under the same banner we all directly effect the success of everyone who's airplanes wear that paint. It is a bi-polar existance to say the least.

My unsolicited advice? If you are enjoying good fortune at the present, be thankful for it. Remain forever magnanimous and empathetic to pilots of other companies. Never forget that the airline biz is fickle and every company seems to have a turn at the top of the pile... And then at the bottom. We are all in the same boat. Anyone who rejoices at the thought of someone losing a job needs thier head examined. That is not the kind of person I ever want to share a flight deck with.

You never know who you might need a ride or a job from next. It may be every man for himself, but a little compassion for the other guy would go a long way toward making our collective situation a bit more tolerable. Personally, I think not doing so shows an extreme lack of maturity... Something severely lacking among pilots at all levels of the industry.

Not even close in regards to my background. But rather than provide substance and actually have a cogent argument, you go right for the personal attack. Psst, JetU doesn't fly the Dash 8.

Fact of the matter is, Colgan pilots are the ones who are disgraces to the profession. They have a horrible QoL and yet last year they decided that a union isn't in their best interest (not to turn this into an ALPA vs non-ALPA thread, but any union is better than no union when it comes to job protection, especially when you work at such a miserable place such as Colgan).

Back in my Dash-8 days, Colgan pilots would come up to myself and other pilots at my airline and talk about how they can't wait "until we (colgan) put you (PDT) out of business!" not to mention "Why would you work anywhere with a 5 year upgrade? Ours is 12 months!" Colgan pilots, with a few exceptions, have been selfish little pricks who live for the "quick upgrade."

While I agree that all regionals are the lowest common denominator, airlines like Colgan have made no effect to raise the bar in any manner whatsoever. Because of that, I consider pilots of Colgan the lowest of the lowest common denominator.

i think you suffer from little man syndrome. But its ok, your just another tool in the big shed of dueshbag pilots. f off

Wow. That's alot of "Holier than thou" from another regional pilot. I'll bet you are an absolute joy to spend a 4 day with.

BTW, 9 years and I NEVER heard ANYONE say they wanted to put ANYBODY out of business. Did you get a name?
QOL? And you speak from experience, having actually worked there? Or are you basing it on what you read on the internet?
It couldn't be from talking to actual CJ pilots, because remember they all told you how they wanted you to go out of business.

BTW I have worked for 2 ALPA carriers as well. Only thing it did for me in both cases was take a percentage of my paycheck. As far as QOL and job protection it didn't do squat.

If PDT was such a great place, why did you leave?

he probably left once he got enough turbine time to get hired elsewhere because he was some 400 hr Riddle/UND self-entitled whiz kid. Back in his Dash 8 days? Kid makes it sound like he was sliming kids with napalm back in the nam. Sound like a real trooper there bud. Say hi to your brother orville for us.

Call off the whizzing match- 30W and Dingo have the best avatars of all time.

I think so, Brain, but how will we get a pair of Abe Vigoda's pants?

I think that's somewhat accurate. He was at PDT for about 3 months, then left to go fly the dildo jet at XJT. Obviously he's too good for the prop. And supposedly too good learn people's names because he "wasn't going to be here for much longer" He still fishes around and posts on the PDT stuff for whatever reason.

But as far as the Colgan pulling out of Syracuse, I really don't feel bad at all. It's definitely unfortunate, but I have no sympathy for any of them.

I think so, Brain, but if they called them sad meals, kids wouldn't buy them.

... but me and Pippi Longstocking? What would the children look like?

Moo, we are a cow.

**My GoogleFu is strong**

Holy crap- I can't believe I found this:

So, you sacked the cocky khaki Kicky Sack sock plucker?

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0608321/ The second cocky khaki Kicky Sack sock plucker I've sacked since the sixth sitting sheet slitter got sick.

The most intelligent post on the regional board in eons, and yet passed over without a mention. Aw f**k it all. I think Springer is on...

Ahh, I know the fella. Stand-up person, great pilot, brilliant, helluva guy. Great to hang out with, too... Like minded sensibility on who should pay for what and when. Very rare these days, and I'm proud to say I'm a captain at the same airline he is.

How many of us FI posters are the same? We're lucky to have him on PDT property.
