I cant wait till we get more Q's. I hope we start flying them for airways out of CLT and LGA. In fact I think its a rumor... pdt is probably going out of biz. But hey maybe jellynuts can be MY fo. ha
dcfu69, even though you always claim to be trolling to get a rise out of people, it still doesn't make YOU any less of a tool. Every sarcastic remark from children like you only further reveals your true lack of character and respect for fellow pilots. We're talking about people's livelihoods!
At least stand behind your statements. Better to be an azzhole than a Dbag with no backbone on the internet....
Pot, meet kettle. XJT might make more than alot of other regionals, but the only "properly paid" flying is that of the former mainline flying now done by ALL regionals.
I think if we map out all of the former high paying mainline routes that places like XJT now does vs. how much CJC does, I don't think there's any comparison.
You say it's not cool to wish others out of work, but isn't that pretty much what you wish on the CJC guys?
DISCLAIMER: Not saying anything against XJT specifically, I'm only using them since you brought them up as the example. ALL regionals are an industry wide cancer. The top of the tumor is just as cancerous as the bottom.
Obviously we all should be paid mainline wages and fly nothing under 150 seats... Since that is a fantasy and there is no foreseeable way to recoup all that scope, your point is moot. MY point is we are really screwed when regionals start undercutting each other this badly. Colgan flies a plane that is 50% bigger for significantly less pay and worse work rules than expressjet erj drivers.
Don't be a hypocrite 30west. Otherwise how do you explain once working for the cancers which are our airlines? I'll give you SOME (a micron) credit for never flying a RJ though...
Be careful. "Work" implies a liveable wage is earned commensurate with the skills and effort and responsibility employed to do the job. At Colgan, its more like "charity". At Gulfstream, its more like "tithing".
Regionals are not a cancer as long as they are payed a wage that is in line with what the major's make per seat. If a Airbus Capt makes 2$/seat/hr then a regional pilot with similar seniority should make 2$/seat/hr.
But we all know that if regional airlines stood up for those fair wages, then the dream of a "quick upgrade" would be gone since there is no incentive to subcontract the flying anymore. Welcome Colgan, Mesa and Republic! And Freedom etc.
