I've read about the ops in Business & Commercial Aviation - one of the pilots writes articles about various Citigroup trips around the globe. Any negatives about this operation? I've heard pay is not that competitive - is that true?

Citigroup has always been a problem child. 11 years ago their chief pilot left to go to a smaller but less political flight department. I have a friend there who has been with the department since 1995. He has been looking for another job since 1995 and 20 minutes.

12+ years and he cant find another gig in the NY area?

interesting.

Its quite a pilots market in the larger aircraft today, why would he stay there?

The previous Chief pilot went to another job? I didnt know that. I thought he retired?

wow!

sounds like $hit.

Going with your information, being unhappy at CitiGroup is better than anything else in the White Plains area? That says something. Why is it worth staying there?

How's the pay relative to other big-iron operators at HPN or TEB? What could a newhire there expect if that person had the requisite experience (hours, international experience, time in type, etc.) - any estimates?

Citigroup or Chase;) ? Two big New York "banks" that start with the letter C that both operate Falcon 900's (among other things). I've got a friend that's works at Chase that has been trying to go elsewhere for a while, whereas I hear that Citigroup is pretty well run.

Chase operates a G5, G4, CL604 & Falcon 2000. The CL and F2000 have both been sold, with the company awaiting the arrival of 1 G550 and 2 G450's before years end.

I think John's efforts have been limited to doing little more than posting his resume on aviation websites. The other part of the issue, I suspect, is that with seniority comes privilege and compensation which are difficult to duplicate as the new guy at another organization.

Now that's a nice lineup.

Anyone estimate what starting salary at Citi might be - estimates?

These guys cannot keep anyone, they are impossible to work for! Egos, not competence, rule this place!!

They often take lower qualified guys, since those that have anything on the ball LEAVE QUICKLY! Still, they end up needing guys several times a yaer...

hold on, Citigroup has one of the most experienced pilot groups in corporate aviation, and no I don't work there. They are hiring because their attrition rate is huge due to retirment.

What came across your screen is pure BS.

Most large corporations HAVE TO post the job publicly. Our HR department won't allow us to hire without doing so. Now whether or not they dip in to that applicant pool is typically left up to the department.

A Fortune 10 company ADVERTISING for a position?

WOW - they must be really desperate to keep up with mutiple people quitting every year.

I also heard from some dude on the internet that they are so short staffed and overrun with underqualifed people and egos that they have to fly their Gulfstreams single pilot!

Beware!

What's the latest on Citigroup hiring?

What's the current status at Citigroup? I have a friend with Falcon 900EX time and he is looking for a job in the NY area. Is Citigroup still hiring or still having attrition issues? What's the latest?

Are they still planning on adding Falcon 7Xs with their current financial situation?

Don't have any new intel about any Citicorp jobs but I saw an article in the March Business & Commercial Aviation magazine profiling one of their recent Global Express flights to Kuwait. One of the three pilots on the flight was a newbie who formerly flew CR7s or CR9s and one of the other pilots was about to retire. I wonder if the newbie knows how expensive it can be to live in that area (maybe he was a Mesa pilot based out of JFK and he was familiar with the high-cost). In any case, the attrition could be due to retirements.

Nice to hear that Citigroup would also consider some regional pilots vs. strictly corporate or military (even if the Global and CR7/9 are somewhat similar). I wonder if they will be adding any new pilots in the near term?
