To all who personally emailed me, here is the info I probably should have sent in the open. I had no idea I would get some many responses. Anyway, here it goes. Contact Pete Salamone the General manager of Charter Services, Inc. in Mobile, AL. at 251 633-6090 or [email protected] or www.csijets.com. The pay is $15K + bennies for copilots or $24K if you can qualify for Capt out of school. You will be required to sign a year contract that will be repaid 1/365th of the total training cost for each day less a year you work for CSI. You will start off in the Citation 2 and there is a chance for upgrade to the Citation 5 and 7. Seems like a nice place to work with extremely friendly management and plenty of contracts to keep them busy for a while. The boss at CSI understands this is a stepping stone job to something better in the future and welcomes low time guys who are willing to work for experience and training. I'm not 100% sure of the minimum flight time required but think 1000-1500 is the ballpark. Hope this helps out.

Jetdriver - Thanks for posting that information! It's great to see pilots helping each other find jobs - especially in today's economy!

mickeyD

Why not just go to McDonalds' and fry french fries for that amount of money? There's alot less liability in the French Fry game!!

hey thanks, I've been on here for months and that must be the most sincere post i've read yet. Thank you!

15,000$ / year???

Is that a typo? If not..

now THATS taking advantage of the pilot market.

How Embarrasing........

I agree, the money is lowwwwww!. But if its a question of how much you want jet time vs money, then only the new type pilot can make that decision. Personally, I could make more on unemployment, but I don't need jet time. I was just trying to spread a little info for low time guys. Guys with 10,000 hrs can ignore the post. The management at CSI is taking a chance with low time guys and paying for training. You can't expect the world when you have no experience and how do you get experience? You have to pay for it yourself, know someone that can get you in a flight department or accept low pay for experience. I hope no one thinks I posted this to take advantage of low time guys, I was just trying to help.

I just imagine how I would feel sitting in the back of my own Jet knowing my pilots make 15-24K/yr. .......and they even pay for your training???? WOW, thats great......
Must get some real talent in that outfit, huh?

Jet time -vs- Money??

Whats so criminal about both???...ask the management at CSI (whatever the heck that is) that, please.

Cant expect the world you say??? Is 15K/yr pushing the "expecting the world" boundaries??

The pay is olw, but it is Alabama!

You can't expect HPN or TEB rates in Mobile, AL. The pay is much lower than usual, but if your name is Bubba, you like BBQ and want to fly jets, it could be a starting point.

How many flying jobs do you think are out there in Mobile? I don't plan on applying. However, if I were still flight instructing, I would probably jump on it.

If they hit a ground ball right to me, I'll pick it up and make the play, but I'm not diving for it anymore!!!

Jeff

Let me reiterate for the people who have problems understanding English. The job in Mobile was posted for low time guys who would consider sacrificing pay for experience. If you don't like the job or think it is beneath your vaunted flying qualifications, THEN IGNORE THE POST! If you have nothing better to do than badmouth this opportunity for a young guy or girl to fly jets, then get a hobby and shutup.

Hey Jet - Can you repeat that again more slowly and using smaller words? I still don't get it.................

Everyone has an opinion - for better or worse.

Jet-

Oh I understand da engwish language purty good....I was just calling a scumbag a scumbag.

really, My post was no reflection on you personally- no way..
but..
Nobody can ever convince me that someone qualified to fly a jet should be paid 15K a year. that is far below the poverty level. In my state you get $19,200/yr on unemployment.

Some may see it as a great opportunity, I see it as a slap in the face to our industry.

Then again, maybe 15K buys a pretty nice double wide in Alabama......

hey jetdriver

Sir,
I'd like to again thank you for that post. I spoke to the gentleman yesterday and sent my resume via email at his request. He asked how much time I had and I told him about 900 Hrs. You see guys. I flight instruct for a 141 flight school/university. I have all my ratings (no atp). There is nearly no multi time to be had at this airport. An opportunity like this could not be passed up. The people there are WAY TOO NICE not to apply! I live in a redneck town. Moving to the south where it's warmer would be welcome at this point.
PS. Jetdriver...my email is [email protected] I really appreciate how you posted this as I received a good response. One question though? How did you know about this?
Eric Hutchinson

Good luck Eric!

Eric

In 1994, after 2.5 years of instructing and flying PA31-310 for a few months I was hired by AMR Eagle. I made a little over $14k. Granted the initial pay would be a little more now, but not by much. Like I said before, for a guy with your experience, it would be a good opportunity.

Good luck. Hopefully you won't be living in a van down by the river!

Whats wrong with liking BBQ?

This thread reminds me of my first jet job, I was paid $100.00 (cash) a day to sit right seat in a Hawker 600. No benefits or retirement no perks just a green back from the CP at the end of the trip.

I was twenty-one, tired of instructing and had a whopping 1300 total, so I was in hog heaven. They got a full crew and I was logging jet time. I did this till I was twenty-three took my ATP on my birthday. I walked away with 2300 hrs total, over 1000 multi and 500 jet.

Did I care if the pay was miserable? No…
Would I do that again? Yes…
Do I care what others might think of my actions? No…

At the time it was all I had and it beat the flying hell out of instructing and I am more than positive it had something to do with me landing a nice job shortly thereafter.

if you worked 13 days per month, you would have made more than 15K per year

that would be 20 days per month for the captain at $100 per day.

If companies can operate a jet aircraft of any kind, they are pitiful for paying that little money even to the low time guys.

Yea, I've seen captains like that before. He was probably getting paid $250 a day for your help but was paying you $100. The fact of the matter is that we all ought to be outraged that we are sometimes forced to prostitute ourselves. I had a friend the other day tell me that he was instructed to hire a right seat guy and it was up to him how much to pay. He was instructed by the owner to "just be fair" He said he was going to try and get someone for $25k or so. I told him he ought to be ashamed of himself! There he is sitting pretty making $100k and he's gonna pay some kid $25k.

It's the sysytem that is the problem. What other profession do you know of that after obtaining all of the required certificates, completing a 4 yr degeee your still not qualified to do anything?
