Anyone know of an FAA medical guy in Cincinnati who is known for his ultra-easy medicals?

I'm accustomed to going to "Pete" in Pittsburgh (all the furloughed USAir guys know who i'm talking about) and going into his office and walking out about ten minutes later with a new medical and a pat on the back.

I'm looking for someone similar in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. Especially if the doctor is familiar with pilots who have had LASIK performed in the past.

Feel free to message me privately if you wish. Thanks in advance!

Dr. Stein runs a 1st Class Medical mill. Last one was 12 minutes from walking in the door to walking out.

Thanks!

I got quite a few recommendations for Dr. Stein in my private email.

Can anyone discuss the eye-test? Due to the lasik I sometimes have trouble with the machines that you look inside and read the eye-chart.

I can read a chart better than 20/20 on the wall -- but those machines with their back-light kick my butt! Does he do a color vision test?

Also, has anyone heard of this Aviation Medical Center in Northern Kentucky? What are they like?

Thanks in advance!

Man, my last two 2nd class exams took over an hour. This examiner has got to be 85yo, And one mean old bast@rd too!
I'm taking BP med's which has something to do with it I'm sure. I had two surgery's after rupturing my left quadreceps muscle in 01. This guy makes me do jumping lacks, climb stairs and push the exam table out of place from a chair to check if I have the leg strength to push the peddals.
$75, pay on your way out.

Treme,

I've been to Dr. Stein and to the Aviation Medical Center. I liked AMC better. I was in and out in under 30 minutes and everyone there is very nice and helpful. The Dr. there (can't remember his name) really wants to help pilots keep their medicals. I have an issue or two that may raise an eyebrow with the Feds in the future and we discussed how we can handle this in order to keep my medical. He won't do anything unethical that would compromise his position as an AME, but he will do everything in his power to keep pilots in the air - he made that point very clear and I am comfortable going back to him.

We didn't discuss LASIK, as I have not had it done. The eye test was the typical test where you look into the viewer and read some lines of letters, find the numbers, periferal vision, etc...

Hope that helps. Any more questions, feel free to PM me.

Personally, here is who I highly recommend. He is very pilot friendly and wants to help.

Call or email him about your concerns before you see him.

Here is another vote for Dr. Villegas at AMC. He even does my Army flight physical at the same time. I would not dream of going anywhere else.
