How long will upgrades continue to be around two years at CHQ? They have 16 firm orders with Delta for the E170 and no new orders with the E145. Is everyone expecting them to get more growth with the E170?

How long are the seat locks?

Training Pay?

Thanks in advance for the responses....

I'm not exatly sure how many more firm orders they have. I think they are expecting around another 30 or so 170's with options to change some of those to 190's. I know they have quite a few options for more. A deal to buy Mid Atlantic is also in the works which would be another 25 170's on the property.

I was told in my interview that there are currently about 1200 pilots on the seniority list and they are planning for that # to increase to about 2500-3000ish by the end of 2007. So from that I'm guessing upgrades will continue at their present pace for some time. We all know how that can change though.

The only seat lock I know of is a 2 year lock when you upgrade to captain on either the 145 or 170. You need 2500 total to upgrade. You can't move between aircraft as an FO.

Training pay is around $500/month your first 30 days and then you receive your 75 hr. guarantee. Hotel is provided while in training.

If any other CHQ pilots can add to this that would be great since I'm new and start training on Tuesday.

Remember that the MDA aircraft will come with pilots.

From what I've heard that's probably not the case since CHQ will be buying the aircraft only and not an operating certificate. I'm guessing they will be flown by CHQ pilots.

How could you have this insight when you don't even work for the company?

...... Wrong thread

Wow. Another post entitled CHQ, Chautauqua? or Upgrades? was due. Nevermind the posts littering the regionals board about the very same topic. I support everyone's enthusiasm, but come on already. There's dozens of posts below this about the EXACT SAME TOPIC.

Nevermind, I think I just have been looking at this site too much lately. Move along. Nothing to see here.

US AIR has reduced its fleet dramatically there was at one point on these boards rumours that FED EX was going to buy There 737s,at no point in the discussion did i here that FED EX would be required to take there pilots.

The difference is that FedEx acquiring USAir 737's was just a lame rumor and Republic assuming continuous operation of MDA is really going to happen.

haha. At least we thought we were starting on Tuesday.
I got the news 3 hours ago.

Doesn't FedEx get DC-10's from NWA and AA when they retire them??? Do the DC-10 Pilots come with them...What about the last used car you bought did the previous owner come with it?

FedEx buys retired airplanes that are mothballed in the desert. They don't assume operations with the same airplanes on the same routes with the same passengers flying on tickets sold from the same airline. Airline history is riddled with mergers/asset purchases identical to this one and nearly all of them involved a seniority integration. You'd better get used to that idea.

Read section 1.H of your own contract and maybe you will get an idea of why Union operated airplanes come with pilots when they are sold while still in operation.

Thursday June 2nd. and instead of being in the first Republic Class, we're going to the Shuttle Side.

It's a good thing you pulled the 170 out of your profile! At this rate you'll never fly it.

Do you have a choice? When you apply it's to Republic Holding's not the individual airline.

Why is that? Have you heard something new regarding the DCI flying?

I don't think SA is hiring anyone into the Saab... So blackpilot can relax, he won't have to lower himself to fly the 340.

Might want to take the "CHQ" part out of the profile, however.

True That! This will be the 5th time my class date has been changed.
I'm still looking forward to it though.

Well let's see.... hmmm i seem to remember that the MA guys were offered J4J positions at CHQ and turned them down to go to MA or just anywhere the pay was better.... Now CHQ has several J4J guys on the property that are just fine with the arrangement. Perhaps if the MA guys were to kiss the J4J guys asses something might be worked out, but frankly screw them, they had a chance and turned it down....

CHQ is buying the airplanes not an airline so there is no requirment to take the pilots.... and since CHQ pilots are not ALPA don't count on that as any kind of help! Plus nobody wants to spend their time listening to a bunch of pilots bitch about how bad and how many times they have been furloughed, recalled, screwed and whatever else they want to bitch about...

end of story!

Since when does MDA have an operating certificate? Far as I know, they're just a C-scale at Airways, with the lowest pay rates for 170s in the industry. Their call sign is even US Air, fercrissakes.
