Well let's see.... hmmm i seem to remember that the MA guys were offered J4J positions at CHQ and turned them down to go to MA or just anywhere the pay was better.... Now CHQ has several J4J guys on the property that are just fine with the arrangement. Perhaps if the MA guys were to kiss the J4J guys asses something might be worked out, but frankly screw them, they had a chance and turned it down....

CHQ is buying the airplanes not an airline so there is no requirment to take the pilots.... and since CHQ pilots are not ALPA don't count on that as any kind of help! Plus nobody wants to spend their time listening to a bunch of pilots bitch about how bad and how many times they have been furloughed, recalled, screwed and whatever else they want to bitch about...

end of story!

Close your eyes. Visualize the negativity leaving your body. Feel the glow of gratitude. You are at peace...

Chq isn't buying anyone.Republic holdings bought MA airplanes and sim plus a few gates here and there. They did not buy Mid Atlantics certificate as they were operating under mainline cretificate therefore when the airplanes go to SA the pilots don't have a right to follow the work. SA also has no j4j agreement in place so the only thing MA guys would be offered is preferential hiring.

What I don't understand about the MDA guys is why, if indeed this is a "transfer of control" of Mid-Atlantic, they would expect to have their Airways date of hire anyway? RAH isn't buying Airways, they're only buying airplanes. But, if they want dates of hire, the only date of hire that would make any lick of sense would be their MDA dates of hire, the oldest of which would be early 2004.

I heard today in class that if the MDA pilots come over that they would be stapled to the bottom. Just what we heard from HR.

Frankly, HR shouldn't be commenting on these types of issues at the present time. They have no clue what will happen. The deal isn't even complete yet nor is the contract negotiations process complete at MDA between ALPA and MDA management. For all we know, they could negotiate a fragmentation provision, etc. It is very unprofessional, in my opinion, for anyone from CHQ management to be commenting on how a possible seniority list merger may occur - especially when the deal isn't even done yet.

Neal,

I don't think anyone has ever accused CHQ of professionalism.

Did they teach you that at Riddle? Did that make you feel better about yourself? What the f**K do you know about our professionalism except what some PO'd captain filled your empty head with....

I wonder whose negotiations will be faster, ALPA and 747 or Shuttle's 264 and 747?

I cannot believe this Shuttle/Republic thing happened a month ago and we still do not have anything answered. Shuttle has 1 pilot group flying 2 different airplanes under 2 different contracts. (Now, I know some Chautauqua guy is going to chime in and say that the 170 pilots are Chautauqua pilots, which may be the case, but they are operating on Shuttle’s certificate.) The Saab pilots are left in limbo.

I wonder if ALPA will be better organized then the two Teamster locals seem to be.

Yo Slap

Flew with a CHQ captain not too long ago and was told that CHQ is waiting on YOUR teamsters... Whatever that means.... CHQ's union has made the necassary phone calls to your union but have not gotten a response back. Their...now you know the juicy low down and why its taking some time.

Tell your union to hurry up so we can get this behind us

Well it is nice to know our union does not return anyone's calls not just ones from the pilots. Sadly this does not surprise me.

I wish we could get this behind us. It would be nice to be under your contract so if I am scheduled for a 3 day, I only have to pack for 3 days and not worry about getting extended without clean underwear.

What is Chautauquas policy regarding reapplying after a "thanks but no thanks" letter for pilot positions? 6 months? 12 months?

Thanks.

Most airlines scope will not allow the sale of assets to operate on the same route without an option for the pilots to go along with it. Check out USAir's section 1 and see if it includes this, but even Mesa has this in their contract. Since the contract was post bankruptcy, they can not get rid of it. Not sure exactly what the scope clause is there, but I'm sure its similar.

The negotiations I referred to was between MDA management and ALPA on their first collective bargaining agreement. On another note, don't expect anything to happen fast, especially when it comes to seniority integration.

The CHQ CA you flew with was rumormongering, as are you. None of the line pilots have any information beyond what has been distributed by the EC. The EC has made only generic "ladies and gentlemen, this is just an update to let you know we have no new information" PA announcements.
