Rumors are that Delta isn't too happy with the over charges of CHQ out of MCO. Also, Mesa has recently submitted bids for ERJ flying to Delta in accordance with their new scope and the fact that CHQ couldn't keep their costs the same as the bid they placed. Look for a change in code-shares out of MCO soon to increase Delta's bottom line. Maybe not the most quality service, but definitely the cheapest.mwmav8r01 said:Well its been a rumor for a LONG time now it is fact... PHL domicile is closing and FLL is opening as a 135 domicile! No IAD or a new code share but atleast some of the trips should be better.
So wait, how does this work? A contract carrier can bid for flying, and then when it can't cover its costs, it can charge Delta for more money? If that's true that's the most screwed up thing I've heard in a long time... what benefit do contract carriers have to Delta then?SEFlyer said:Rumors are that Delta isn't too happy with the over charges of CHQ out of MCO. There are so many rumors going around so many different regionals right now it could make your head spin. 3rd airlink this, picking up zw flying that etc. etc. I wouldnt believe anything until you actually see a press relase/standing bid within your company. Even then be skeptical until you actually see the aircraft on the property.a-v-8er said:What is this rumor about Mesa moving into MCO to code share with Delta???
They may be... BUT... DAL did just ask for new bids on contract flying and it's a well known fact that they aren't happy with CHQ. They also removed the restriction on MESA working for them.CHQ is a fixed cost for DL
If you would read any other message boards besides FlightInfo, you'd surely know all the airlines I have worked for in the past, including my current one. If you're going by whats on the profile, it hasn't been updated in about 3 years... My post was not flamebait, its a fact that Delta is shopping for a new regional. Mesa is bidding on it. What will happen is all Delta's decision, not mine, not Mesa's, not CHQs. All I'm saying is that Mesa can do it for cheaper than many of the other regionals including, CHQ, and using my deductive reasoning, all Delta wants to do right now is stay out of Ch. 11, thus going with the lowest bidder. Kind of like the government, who cares how well its done, as long as its cheap...low-key said:SEFlyer, you my friend are what they call a moron. Youre ridiculous posts on these message boards are ludicrious pieces of flame bait. Do you even work at the airlines or have any clue what is going on to be making assumptions and vague ideals as to how things work. CHQ is a fixed cost for DL. Know what youre talking about before you speak
