1 of 2 bases closed in 27 years (if AFA's numbers are accurate) is a lot better to me than 2 out of 7 in 3 years. But hey, to each his own, right?
Unless of course if you had half of your bases closed in just the last couple of years. But like you said, to each his own.

PHL just closed to open FLL
FWIW This is rumor. Granted a strong rumor, but as of this writing there is nothing official.

FDJ2, I hate to jump in your little catfight with AFA... but how many Delta bases have you guys closed in the past few years? It's not a contest, you know.

I'd rather have my eggs in the ATL or CVG basket, rather than some podunk station like GSO or LEX that could probably close at will. Let me put it this way, if the ATL or CVG crew bases were to close, I think I'd have a lot more issues than wondering where to move my family.

DITO.....If he can't see my point then he is just blind....

That's a good one! " Yooooo make me raff all day rong!!!!"
A little birdy told me that CHQ may be announcing a big order soon of additional E170s. Let's put it this way, they won't support UAL. Might as well forget big growth at Comair and ASA for awhile. Just a rumor, of course.

If they're getting MORE 170's, someone is going to have to explain to me how CHQ is going to get around this little problem they have with AMR.

CHQ doesn't have a problem with AMR. The APA has a problem with AMR. CHQ flying 170s, which is a violation of their (APA's) contract with AMR, is not a violation of AMR's contract with CHQ.

AMR either appeases the APA and eats the 140s, or they honor their contract with CHQ and deal with the APA. At least that is my understanding of the situation.

I bet a lawyer somewhere got fired for that one...

Right. That's what I meant. My bad.

Relax, the rumor that Shuttle Will be getting these 170s is surely soon to follow.
Ya, ya, shoor, shoor... And too late, that rumor has already seen, conquered, and left the building (if I may mix my metaphors a wee bit). I don't believe that any more than you do.

I'm just asking how CHQ or APA or AMR or whomever is going to "fix" this thing.

CHQ does not have to fix the problem. In a few months there will BE no 170's at CHQ. And once they go to RP, the APA can whine like little babies all they want. They won't be able to do a darn thing about it.

And RP gets their certificate WHEN, exactly? All I keep hearing is that it's held up indefinitely. At one point, hadn't the cert been stalled to the point that they were ready to give up on it? This goes back a while and I know they have moved ahead with the app, but last I heard it was gonna be next summer at the earliest.
