CHQ Crew Bases

Hey, any of you current CHQ pilots. What are the odds of getting BUF as a base for a new hire? How many pilots based there?

real good...its very senior for Captains and very junior for FO's...its not that big i dont know how many total maybe 20 cpts and 20 FO's thats jsut a guess, but you could probably hold it right out of training

That used to be true, but now with the 175's coming, we are giving up 20 US Airways 145's. This will likely mean the drastic reduction of closure of BUF, LGA, RIC, GSO, etc. I don't think any new hire will get it depending on how they are phasing them out. If you do get it, know that it is temporary.

if i'm not mistaken thoes 20 145's will be put on the CAL flying so depending on what the skeds/routes they fly the company may be able to construct lines of flying with thoes bases - thus the limited interuption to employees lives.

thats a very good point i didnt think of...i wonder if we will see the bases that were primarily 50 seat Airways flying dwindle away or close....Ive never even been to BUF, do we fly in there as anything besides Airways?

What are the chances of getting SDF straight out of class? I am in the Aug 3rd class date and from SDF area. Any help is appreciated....

Any info on the MCO base, is it a junior FO base? Are new hires being sent there at all?

MCO is drastically being reduced....the most junior FO there could be a Captain.

Is STL or IND junior on the 145?

i think STL and IND are about even for FO's however STL is bigger

im not sure....completley depends on how fast the continental stuff gets implemented....i went through in February and got indy after 1 month...if that helps
