We must consider the TA very carefully, even if there are things in there that we do not necessarily like.

Our EC has been working long and hard on this TA and stood their ground for a long time on a number of issues. My take on the situation is that they would not agree to put out a TA unless they felt it was the absolute best they could do.

With that in mind, don't vote in a POS, but leave yourself open to semi-undesirable clauses that may be included.

The back peddling begins.

The back peddling begins.
I remember when Comair finally agreed to something and the strike ended. This board was filled with many saying, THANKS FOR NOTHING COMAIR! and so on....A contract is not going to please all, and its very easy for someone who has no strings attached to the situation to say, HEY you guys failed. We all know now that Comair has one of the most desireable contract in the regional industry. To negotiate there must be some give in take, so a good agreement for the company is going to be an acceptable comprimise by both sides.

there will be no back peddling at chq...

We are not a bunch of spinless bastards that many of you reading this post are-you know who I'm talking to.

WE stand behind our union guys 100%, and they know this.

WE gave them our support with a 94% strike vote, they are doing the right thing.

UNITY!!

B

P.S. they know if they try to put out a sh_t TA that there will be mutiny-heads will roll...

Hey, if you have ever seen a PERFECT contract, let me know. I'd like to take a look at it.

This is all a game of give and take.

This is mostly getting the cart before the horse since a TA has not been officially announced, though from speaking with the EC something is on the table that is agreed upon, but since it has not been 100% approved by both sides (meaning legal has not signed off), it cannot be called a TA. But this is just what I know now.

I would have to agree with most of the fellow CHQ pilot's here. A contract will not please everyone. I do firmly believe that the current EC took the old TA as a baseline to improve. I do not believe they would send anything to us that would include poor wording, subpar benefits, giving up what we have now (ie giving them junior manning in exchange for benefits), or low compensation. I do believe we were looking for at least parity with the industry, but that becomes harder as time goes on. Republic I do believe is being delt with because it was a major point with the EC. Republic Airlines may continue to exsist, but I would guess a one list policy for RAH may be coming. You could cross bid into Republic and back to CHQ, but there would be one master list between the two and the contract would cover both airlines.

Why a possible sudden swing of events? I guessing (and all speculation) the time is running out for management. If they have deals with airlines on the table then they eventually have to announce them. It would explain the extreme tactics they have used in the past few months. Furloughing and downgrading pilots when scheduling cannot cover trips due to lack of coverage doesn't make sense, except to try to get the pilots to fall into line. Messages from the Company with exactly how many jobs were lost (or not added) because we authorized a strike vote. Direct letters to employees with packages of compensation from other regionals to point out that were are asking for too much and our EC is not doing any good for us. It seems management is trying to fight a major battle and pulling out all the stops. I do believe we have stood firm and will make up our minds with what is put on the table. Our EC knows we would rather take this to the limit than agree to a substandard package. I put my faith in them, but what has transpired will not be known until it is in writing.

Until then, I'll get my passengers from piont A to B as safetly and as comfortably as possible. When I do receive a TA, I'll sit down and read it cover to cover. I will weigh the good and the bad and vote how I will. This is a benchmark contract for CHQ. We are no where near the same company we were when the last contract was signed. This will set what the contracts our airline (Chautauqua) has to work with for many years to come. I can see why both sides have been bitter because they know the ramifications this will have on the future course of the airline. I will take the future pilots here into consideration after (hopefully) I am gone. This is a major turning point for Chautauqua. I just hope I can look back and hope I made a positive impact.

Make pilots of this industry proud guys

CHQ pilots,
Everyone in this industry is supporting you guys. Comair set the bar. Everyone else now seems to be going backwards. Which is b.s. For you guys to go forwards or atleast get close to Comair now would help out all future contracts for the regionals. ASA and Continental EXpress would especially be appreciative.

Plus maybe all future managements would stop throwing that cr#ppy Mesa contract at pilots and stop saying "work for this".

You guys are impressing a lot of people holding the line like you are. Plus won't it be worth it to stop being mentioned with Mesa all time as the underbidders. That's got to be embarrassing. Put an end to it now.

Good luck guys!

general, I am not going to get into a pissing match with you about asa and comair. We do not fault any of our competitors for being wholly owned. Thats just the way it is. ASA and Comair may have issues for their respective MEC's to take up with mainline DAL. It does not concern us and we wish them all the luck in the world.

What we are concerned with is a fair contract, growth potential, and having a great place to work.

We are striving toward that every minute of every day, until we get it all worked out.

Oh and yes, 30 more for DCI!

I just hope my fellow ASA and Comair brethren do not think that all of us at CHQ are as callous as ED is in this post.

The majority of the folks at CHQ are very concerned with the impact of what we do on other carriers, particularly in regard to our contract negotiations. We have a great deal of respect for what the Comair folks did for 89 days just a couple of short years ago. We do not relish in underselling our services to anyone. We do take pride in doing a good job and if we can outcompete someone on a level playing field that is fine. Whoring ourselves as the lowest bidder is not our gameplan nor a source of satisfaction.

ED, you come across as a d*ck in that post. Perhaps *you* don't care about Comair and ASA but I dare say that the rest of us are professional and decent enough to. I kindly request you refrain from speaking on behalf of all CHQ pilots--you're making us look like a bunch of a$$holes.

Skull,

Of all the pilots at CHQ, you are the last person who should be posting something like this...
You make us look like A$$holes on multiple boards everyday.
Although I will give you credit, as of late, I haven't had to sort through as much of your senseless BS as usual, especially the Teamster website....Thank you for that...
p.s. read the post again.....

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

Considering I get three complaints and fifteen attaboys (along with numerous handshakes and "Keep it ups" when I see people on the line...........). I think I'll keep posting my "senseless BS as usual."

Can you see me actually worried? Didn't think so.

:)

Paul, you are "not concerned" about ASA and Comair's issues, only your own. Fine. Just speak for yourself. The rest of us *do* care about what goes on out there with others and we DO have a collective conscience regarding the same. If not, we wouldn't be taking this stand....

Meanwhile, starting fights with GL, bragging about not giving a crap, and flaunting 30 more jets for DCI in the faces of ASA and Comair (when they are having a period of very slow to nonexistant growth) is not helping us one iota. I would prefer to be respected by the folks at CMR and ASA not despised by them.

Be defensive, not offensive, Daniel-san.

By gosh, I think it worked...

I agree with ERJDRVR. You must be bored in TUL, and mouthing every thing on the boards. You make us look like schmucks. Most of your opinions are idiotic and paranoid fantasies. You do it here, on TSALounge, IBT board and god knows where else. The "fifteen attaboys" don't count when it's your mom.

Peace out, Tool.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww............my feelings are hurt.

*NOT* :)

What, did the same guy sign up as five different people to hurl anonymous insults in my direction?

Can you tell that I don't care, yet?

Hmmmmmmm.............. I must not be trying hard enough.

:D

TUL? Hell, I'm in Hunt. Haven't been to TUL in a long time....

Any way.......... I'll keep doing what I do. It amazes me that so many (one) of you get worked up by my rantings!

The day I stop posting is the day I run out of things to say....not the day you "scare" me off.

Besides, you're not paranoid when everyone really is out to get you...or something. ;)

"Tool." That's the best you could come up with? How pathetic.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm off to bed.... I need to sleep so I can come up with more idiotic and paranoid fantasies!

:) :) :) :) :) :)

Ever notice that we were given two ears and one mouth. It's so we would listen twice as much as we speak.

Not intended for anyone specific. Just something to ponder.

Skull one

I like your posts, it keeps things interesting. Anyway i disagree with you statement saying most people care or are concerned about what goes on at other companys. Most poeple i have talked to don't care about ASA or Comair. Do you really think that they care about CHQ? I really think not. I'm sure they wish we would just go away and give up all of "their" flying. I wish everyone in this industry the very best because they all have families like me and are just trying to make a living. BUT, my main concern is with MY company which happends to be CHQ. CHQ feeds my family right now and the better off we are, the better off my family is. I have not heard anyone flaunting the fact that we may get 30 more jets for Delta. It is also a decision that is way above your head, my head and everyone at Comair and ASA. Pilots do not make these decisions. If you feel so bad about" preventing" the growth of Comair and ASA, then feel free to leave. No one is forcing you to stay. One thing to remember here, this or any future flying with Delta does not belong to Comair, ASA or CHQ. It belongs to Delta, and they can choose to have anyone fly it.

This is not a bash on any company. It is just the fact that every pilot in every company wishes the best for his or her own.
