Are Chloroform shoes overkill while in uniform......Got an old pair that are still in good shape from my active duty days.
I've only seen one other pilot in uniform wearing them while coming through Atlanta one day.....

don't, please don't. You can't imagine how much cr@p you'll receive if you wear those plastic shoes.....you're not in the military anymore......just don't.

I agree with Sandman. I've seen them once or twice, but it's not the norm. Pilot's wear scruffy, seldon shined shoes. Well, at least I do :) .

Are they Bates.... If so, at some unopportunistic time the soles will literally disintegrate beneath your feet in a matter of minnutes.....

Bates suck

Yeah....

one day at drill weekend my khaki bates shoes literally went from working fine at the morning aom and by noon you could follow my little chuncks of bates rubber soles all over the squadron... you get a 5 minute warning when those guys go... then my white bates blew out the sole when I was taking them off after a change of command... good thing. I wont have to buy a new pair for at least 1.5 years...

Dont wear your coreframs ever out of uniform.... if you do I will personally dik drag you and really embarrass you in public. Pour lighter fliud on them and torch the living $hit out of em....

That's what you get for wearing white dress shoes.

Gup

Corframs SUk! They don't breath! When it is hot your feet will burn, when it is cold they will freeze. If you want to look sharp (military or not) shine your leathers. 'Frams are for slackers.

I was at NCO Academy graduation at Tyndall when both heels simultaneously fell to pieces. It was bizarre. One second normal, the next both heels were shredded and fell off. Looked like a freakin' idiot in front of 500+ NCOs. Pretty embarassing.

My CC was there. His exact words? "That's what you get for wearing pu**** corframs."

....and that pilot had all the ATL pilots laughing.....right? Keep the corframs for your UTA's....if you really feel the need to wear them with your airline pilot uniform....just put a "Kick Me" sign on your back instead.

I think there must have been a change in command ceremony in the hotel room next to mine yesterday, because it sounded like a couple of guys trying to move a bureau around.

I have an even worse crime.

I flew with a Captain (prior AF, explains the problem..), that wore Coraframs with taps on the bottom! No kidding.

I once met the foreman of the Bates shoe factory. Everyone called him "Master Bates"

I once flew with a former AF helo guy that even worse than the Corframs, wore Velcro shoes. What a dork!

You guys are spot on about the frams. We did a beach assault show in Santa Barbra and went out on the town that night for drinks and festivities. My heel came off and i was walking around with sparks coming out of my heels for the trest of the night. Those things suck !!!!!!

How about the black "referee" Reeboks? Classsy... TC

Pilots/military dudes are not known for their sense of style, that's for sure.

I think you mean, "most" pilots / military dudes...

It seems very few straight guys (particularly the married ones) have a sense of style and many pilots are simply in need of extreme fashion makeovers.

As far as the Bates saga goes, I was in a Mess Dress (tux) doing the Saber Bearer thing for a buddy's wedding, when one of my heels decided to trash the center aisle of the church. :( Not too cool at all. Black crap all over the aisle the bride and groom had to traverse.

Not to be outdone, I was upstaged by one of his friends. This guy placed, and then taped, a large G.I Joe action figure, performing a sexual maneuver on a Barbie doll on the hood of his Pathfinder, when we were decorating his ride with the "Just Married" stuff.

It was a rathering shocking display, considering Barbie was butt naked, except for lipstick, a smile and G.I. Joe's combat boots, particularly for the blue haired women in the church. And there were many moms and dads who didn't particularly enjoy explaining why GI Joe was wrestling poor Barbie, but at least I was no longer the villain of the wedding. ;)

I worked for a small Part 135 company that required its pilots to wear Corafram shoes. Most of our business was flying Japanese tourists from SoCal to the Grand Canyon. There, we were known as the "Shiny shoes" pilots. I hated those things, and being a civilian trained pilot, didn't keep them looking very sharp (I was hoping that they would stop reflecting sunlight...)

Ivauir is spot on. Your feet froze in the winter and roasted in the summer. I'll never wear another pair of those again.

Forget the bad fashion statement. They aren't safe. In the event of a fire or accident, you are better off in leather shoes to protect your feet. The guys on the USS Stark had their 'frams melted to their feet.

You went out on the town with your frams? I bet you really had some luck that night!
