Liu added that domestic companies already supplying parts to Boeing and Airbus "will be capable of contributing to the development of the large aircraft." Last time I looked there were something like 45 different car manufacturers in China. They are going to start selling some models in the USA in the near future.

I read somewhere that with your first purchase, you get a punch card, and after 10 aircraft you get one free. You have to pay for your tea or soda ,though.

IKEA's Swedish, and the QRH for the SAAB is about as easy to understand as the funiture instructions

Have you guys seen the new chinese J10 fighter? Totally domestically developed, and will probably give an F-16 a pretty good run for the money. If you think this isn't a potentially huge competitor to Boeing, you're fooling yourself.

And why not, as they have a 'dealer network' already set up; its called "Walmart" where all their other "cheap junk" is sold.

I heard a 4 door sedan is expected to sell for under $10K. Remember, everybody body freaked out when the Japanese first introduced cars into the US also, they said they would be no good etc. But sorry to hijack the original thread. I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see the Chinese develop some serious competition to boeing and airbus. I also wouldn't be surprised if they were getting encouragement from airlines around the world. If airbus goes under from their A380 debacle, airlines want their to be some competition left in the world.

I know IKEA is Swedish, but the instructions for assembly are in several different languages. When reading the English portion it sounds as if someone from Asia dictated it.

Wow the "NEW J10" can give a 30 year old F-16 a run for it's money you say. Maybe the first passenger aircraft can give the 30 year old Northwest DC-9 a run for its money.

Spent a good bit of time in China with Polar, do not fool yourself into thinking they are a backwards nation. Bad part is that I think they already build a good bit of components for Boeing, I think there is a GE engine plant there as well. IF they do build a plane to compete they already have a nice headstart thanks to american outsourcing.

They are far behind the US in enviromental and social issues, but from what I have seen they are more than capable at turning out a competitive airplane. Far more capable than Brazil.......and how many Emb's are we now flying?

dude the f16 is a bit old, will it give the f22 or the joint strike fighter a run for its money? no.

maybe they can build a turboprop that will give the brazilia a run for its money and a jet that will give the 707 a run for its money too..... that would be great competition:cartman: .
