What does flap setting have to do with this F=d up takeoff??? If they didn't have the right flap setting, you would probably have seen the nose come up at Vr, with no climb.... They probably used reduced power when full power was required....

Hey, I'll be the first to admit I've made a few...and didn't a couple of our DAL brother attempt a clean-wing T/O on a MD-88 a bunch of years back?

It can and does happen...and we are lucky we can learn from seeing stuff like that.

In theory, it helps keep us sharp.
