What carries more value for FedEx, UPS, Alaska, and Southwest. Checkairman on a turboprop or Jet PIC. Currently have about 1700 PIC on the turboprop with no sponsors at Fedex, UPS, or Alaska. Would appreciate the input. Thanks.

The jet pic thing is great, but check airman scores more brownie points imho. become a check airman and find a sponsor. you'll get on somewhere.

I am in the pool at FedEx. I have ZERO jet PIC time. I have about 3300 turboprop PIC time. I was a sim check airman for about a year at my current airline. This formula seemed to work for me.

I would say if you have the choice of either jet PIC or check airman on the turboprop, take which ever one happens first. Check airman shows leadership and ability to do stuff other than fly. Jet PIC is just a matter of seniority, but they like that too.

Good luck.

I had both, but I believe the IOE/Check airman is what got me to brown. Once you have done the check airman thing you might be able to carry that to the jet later. Good luck!

Neither one will carry much weight at FDX unless you have a sponsor (3 prefered). I known several people hired at FDX without jet time so go for the Check Airmen position and start networking.
