Does Chautauqua allow the pilots to wear leather jackets instead of the blazer? Also are the pilots required to wear hats?

Not allowed to wear a leather jacket..bummer....Yes, also required to wear the hat. Fly Safe

I don't think anyone really cares what is worn in the U system anymore. I haven't worn my tie or blazer since I got downgraded at ALG 2 years ago. I see guys from all the diif U carriers in the leather jackets so I guess you could get away with it. Personally I think leather jackets on pilots are for posers/pussies especially when they put the epuletts on them (just my opinion, I've flown with and have many friends that wear it as part of thier uniform, its not personal).

I get a kick at all the 300 hr Mesa newhires strutting around the airport in them.

Whats even better is down at DCA all the mil guys strutting around in 90 degree wx wearing thier leather flight jackets like thier trying to relive the glory days. I see them all the time around the Pent and in the metro, its like super mavrick dork city.

Hey Mr. Condescending.... dang you must be the coolest mofo in the world. Nobody can measure up to you. Can I be your friend?

I prefer the blazer, I hate the leather jacket. But unfortunately it's what I have to wear. And learlove, mesa hasn't had newhires since dec you numb nut.

I see lots of people not wearing hats. I'm a hat guy myself, but I'm not the uniform police. But come on Lear, no tie? Maybe even just doing that half-ass top-button undone and loosened thing?

And before anyone else jumps on Learlove's case, don't. He and I go back aways, so I can, but unless you know him, let him say his piece. He's been there.

Are you guys required to wear underwear? Boxers or Briefs? Fight the system and go COMMANDO SYTLE!

One of the first things that I noticed in the GOM during Indoc. We are required to wear underwear, and I have been fighting the system.

I personally like the Marko Ramius (Russian Sub Commander) Look. Black sweater with the bars on the shoulders. I once saw a dude with the sweater with bars then he put on his jacket with bars on that too. "Allright dude I get it you're a Capt."

But to each his own. I'm a blazer+tie/hat guy myself.

Commando might work, but those zippers on the company issued pants are nasty sharp. BDSM isn't my bag. Maybe on the weekend, but not at work.

the biggest dorks are the ones who put "Cpt" or "Capt" or some other variant on their nametag on their leather jacket.

Yeah! And the picture of Yoda holding a light saber is REAL COOL!!!!!!!!!!!! DORK

Just Kidding haha

I am a star wars fan myself

I love my commando sweater (bars on the shoulder), the elbow pads are an added slice of heaven. It works extremely well in the Northeast especially with no apu. May I also say that there is absolutely no way of being mistaken as a flight attendant, need i say more. Oh wait this is not a sweater thread, oops sorry.

I agree. You're an airline pilot. Unless your in a pointy nose mach crusher or something that can deliver a little artifical sunshine... the leather jacket makes you look like a wannabe.

I wore the Commando Sweater myself as did most of the other pilots at my previous 121 job. Being in the Mid-west, that was the best way to keep warm. (if you get the wool sweater)

Years ago, I would have agreed that uniform presence meant something in this field (notice I didn't say profession). Pilots (and FA's) were respected and admired......do any of you really think this is still the case?

If it were up to me I would totally drop the current uniform, and have a corporate look (i.e. actually COMFORTABLE). How about khaki pants and a polo shirt with embroidered wings. We would still be better dressed than %90 of our pax.

That's impossible when you already have your head up your ass. The replies you sent tell me all I need to know about your airline.

I guess some people can't take a little joke. It makes me believe that they think you're right, since they're getting so upset over your comments.

Come on guys, it's flightinfo, don't take it so personally. RELAX!! Even though the truth hurts. JK
