Does Chautauqua allow the pilots to wear leather jackets instead of the blazer? Also are the pilots required to wear hats?

I don't think anyone really cares what is worn in the U system anymore. I haven't worn my tie or blazer since I got downgraded at ALG 2 years ago. I see guys from all the diif U carriers in the leather jackets so I guess you could get away with it. Personally I think leather jackets on pilots are for posers/pussies especially when they put the epuletts on them (just my opinion, I've flown with and have many friends that wear it as part of thier uniform, its not personal).

I get a kick at all the 300 hr Mesa newhires strutting around the airport in them.

Whats even better is down at DCA all the mil guys strutting around in 90 degree wx wearing thier leather flight jackets like thier trying to relive the glory days. I see them all the time around the Pent and in the metro, its like super mavrick dork city.

One of the first things that I noticed in the GOM during Indoc. We are required to wear underwear, and I have been fighting the system.

I love my commando sweater (bars on the shoulder), the elbow pads are an added slice of heaven. It works extremely well in the Northeast especially with no apu. I wore the Commando Sweater myself as did most of the other pilots at my previous 121 job. Being in the Mid-west, that was the best way to keep warm. (if you get the wool sweater)

Years ago, I would have agreed that uniform presence meant something in this field (notice I didn't say profession). Pilots (and FA's) were respected and admired......do any of you really think this is still the case?

If it were up to me I would totally drop the current uniform, and have a corporate look (i.e. actually COMFORTABLE). How about khaki pants and a polo shirt with embroidered wings. We would still be better dressed than %90 of our pax.
